Dealing with the variety of staff member that live within.
Inside yourself you have many personalities, many that do not agree with the overall way you operate, sometimes for a good reason, sometimes not, however understanding their desires is still extremely important.
To give an example, just like any physical place of work, you are also very likely to have a 'trouble maker' operating within. If you were the manager of your own store, you would need to talk to the troublemaker and by doing so you would be better able to harness their energy, or you may ignore them and end up with a messy situation in which means you need to get rid of them. However you cannot get rid of something that lives within, this would be you dismissing yourself until something bigger happens and all control is lost.
Your inner troublemaker may seem well repressed when it comes to working, but is it listened too?
For example as I write this and struggle to get the number of responses I wish for, from my content, my inner troublemaker is making it very clear that I would love to run my laptop under the sink for a good few minutes. This is becoming an internal struggle because this doesn't benefit the hardworker (who also lives within), instead this personality is telling me to reach out to everyone in my network and ask to begin working together immediately.
Neither really work alone, because they cannot be isolated, they are on this mission for a better future and they are in it together.
So this means negotiations need to happen:
Why can't I run this laptop under the sink?.. Well it would cause havoc for all the other personalities that enjoy working, writing articles, creating videos etc.
However, it would give me a spark of happiness as it excites the inner troublemaker.
Maybe if I better understood where this urge for destruction came from I would be better equipped in creating a middle ground that makes all personalities cooperate and work together in harmony, thus creating a greater level of productivity.
Is this my inner trouble maker simply 'acting out' to regain some of the control it had when I was a kid?... Most likely, and with that maybe I can negotiate here. Would I be able to provide my inner troublemaker some control by allowing it to take over my laptop in another way? Maybe a computer game would help, maybe a movie, or even an article that excites that element of myself???
This can lead to the creative spark once again being granted to my inner troublemaker and it will not be contained in a sense of frustration. This spark of creativity can lead to all kinds of results that may bounce between all of my inner desires. A new method toward success has been formed.
To summarise
The point I am trying to make here is that your inner trouble maker will always exist and repressing it will just make it scream louder. I understand you likely think your inner trouble maker is an unprofessional side of yourself that is best kept out of your working life. However I disagree, this element of you has a lot of power to create and destroy, you just need to listen to it and focus this energy in a way that it does not bother the more efficient workers that also live internally, instead sparks their interest with a new insight or direction.
