Self love is the key to self development

The law of attraction is based on an idea that if one thinks hard enough, wishes hard enough, meditates on something hard enough and, generally speaking, wants something hard enough, then that something will appear. Like magic. What this idea of “wish for it and you will get what you want†completely ignores is that you already have what you have. The law of attraction makes it seems that humans are forever blank slates, and that at any point of their lives they can choose who they wish to be when they grow up, which completely misses the fact that they already grew up.
They already are what they are. They already have what they have, and they've got what they have for a reason. They are who they are for a number of reasons. Those reason’s are not going to disappear simply because someone wishes to be something else now. The law of attraction is a fantasy in many ways, chiefly in that it ignores reality and focuses on fantasies.
I understand that you are not asking about the law of attraction, but the same principle applies here: looking for steps to self-love is like looking for anything one wants and doesn’t have: it is looking and focusing what one wants while ignoring what one has and how one got what one has. And why one is what one is, now. The first step to becoming what you want to become - self-loving for example - is to take a good, hard look at who you are now, at why you are the way you are now, at how you become this way. What choices created the person you are, what traumas, what fears, what pain. Once you have a solid understanding of who you are now, you can start making some changes that will allow you to become who you wish to be.
You can look at the trauma you carry, at the pain that causes you to not be loving in relationship with yourself. You can resolve and heal this trauma. You can look at patterns of thinking and habitual behaviors that hurt you and you can look into shifting those. The more you can see yourself as you are - not loving at all - the more you’ll be able to heal things, resolve things, address things. The more you focus on fantasies of loving yourself, the more you’ll lose touch with who you actually are, and the more incapable you’ll be of bringing your fantasies into reality.
Stepping towards self-love and self-worth is stepping into yourself, as you are, right now, unloved and unworthy, and being with yourself as you are, right now. Not as you wish that one day you might ave, could have, should have been. Self Love is when you start having confidence in yourself. To develop self love, you have to avoid fear. Fear can make you to easily walk away from a superb Future home of idea.to be successful in life, one need to be confident. If you do things and then you end up not succeeding at that time, do not give up, it is just a prompt for you to take a new direction. If you allow fear to rule you, it will shrink your dreams.When you have self confidence, Everything seems easier. Self-confidence is like a solid foundation for living a life of happiness and accomplishments.

Your belief about yourself determines your behaviors and achievements. When you build self confidence, you will enjoy every good benefits that comes with it.Self-confidence makes life more easier, it gives you the power to change your life. Change every negative thoughts about yourself into positivity, you alone can create a positive version of yourself. Believe you are amazing in your own way and no one can be better than you, you can make it with more efforts and time only if you try.Never Compare Yourself to Others.Everyone is created in his or her own uniqueness.
Never compare yourself to others, there is something in you that they crave to have. Never compare yourself to others, you may not know what they are going through. Compare yourself to yourself, to who you were yesterday, focus on your own progress and not others. How far have you gone over the years, how successful have you become in last two years. This are questions you should ask yourself and then work on building a better you.
You can be whatever you want to be, only believe, be patient and work hard.You are an amazing being, do not let anyone make you think otherwise.Study yourself and know your capabilities. Turn your fears to your motivator, do not accept defeat if you want to become a better version of yourself to discover your self worth, you have to know your limiting Thorns.Life is full of thorns which are on the way of things we want to achieve in life. You cannot know yourself too well, until you know what cuts you short. That is why you see some people getting stuck in one place for a long time. What are those areas that are holding you from moving forward. For example, You get your car stuck in the mud, since you can’t lift the whole car at once, you should check which of the tires is or are stuck. After you have discovered the tire that is causing the major problem, you can then use a wood and support it out of the mud.
For me to gain self love and feel I Had value again after two decades of believing the exact opposite I had to lie to myself. Have you heard the expression fake it till you make it? That is exactly what I did. Whenever I was experiencing negative self talk I would counter if with something positive. I started telling myself about all the positive qualities I had. I didn’t actually believe I possessed these qualities they were the qualities I wished I possessed. Eventually as time passed the negative self talk started to lessen and I started to actually believe I did in fact have wonderful qualities.
This didn’t happen by magic. It was coupled with tons of therapy and hard work. But this was the practice that helped me realize that all the negative things I believed about myself for as long as I could remember were in fact the lies. I realized the person I wished I could be was actually the person I was all along. I am a good person who deserves love and respect. That’s the truth and no one can tell me differently now. Cheers!

3 å¹´Thank you for your words Ki(Sho)re (Shin)tre though thinking too hard creates negative energy. Yes LOA today needs to be revised. My own guidance is through POP, the Power Of Positivity. Individual sovereignty that accepts us as we are but with assurance that we do not need to live in a fearful experience being controlled by others. We only have this life once, let us find joy within it, not only for us but for all of mankind. Do not let our minds (ego) control us but drop into the heart first (ask; 'What would my heart do.' Let us remove competition until we can learn to enjoy it in harmony. The LOA makes no distinction between positive and negative thoughts! ????
