SELF-IMAGE : A LIFE-LONG SAVIOUR

What we tell ourselves when the world is hell-bent to pin us down decides where we eventually end up.
Today marked my mother's 70th birthday and when I recall her life 'things' inside me start to shiver a little.
Orphaned by age of 2.
Struggled to meet her ends till adolescence.
Social isolation and barriers.
And many such hurdles while she pursued to lead a fulfilled life.
With all that said, it was commendable how gracefully and adroitly she conducted herself till the very end.
The reason of such exemplified conduct was the self-image she had created for herself.
It was about what kind of identity she associated herself with.
Her motto to live was simple:
"I am embodiment of happiness.
Wherever, I go I would be happy and would spread it amongst others."
This self-image and identity she gave herself sailed her through some really tough times.
It gave her strength & more importantly a guiding principle to lead a meaningful, happy life.
It took me a good part of 18-19 years to build a self-image of that sort, that does not shake.
That does not waver when tested by time, circumstances and people externally
And
By self-doubt, reservations & negative-talks internally.
Once I had this self-image built, I realized that I could face any adversity.
And more importantly, I can chase and pursue any dream I want.
The self-image I created for myself proved a saviour for me in the darkest of times. That is why I say --
ITS A LIFELONG SAVIOUR
Times when even my shadow would not accompany me.
The identity I gave to myself for anything I want to pursue:
"If anyone can do this, it is me".
This identity gives a winner's mindset.
And when we could work with that mindset everything is achievable.
Everything could be tackled.
I am not saying that there would not be any challenges.
They would always be.

What meaning a life has if there are no challenges??
But now we know that there is something to fall back on.
Everytime.
And Everytime, we would be able to deliver.
Everytime, we would get through.
Little by Little, Day by Day.
The reason I am writing this today is to ensure you do not to take that long as I did.
To start building the kind of self-image that serves when you need the most.
The answer to above two questions are the three questions you ask yourself everyday for next 90 days:
Think over these questions over and over again.
Sleep over it. Write it down on a piece of paper and carry with yourself any where you go.
If you do not get answers, then let your mind cut loose.
Let it flow unbound and freely.
Do not restrict it. Do not force it.
At some point you would have a breakthrough in seeing your best self.
When you do, write that feeling down in your journal.
Be as detailed as possible.
Such detail that could get embedded into your heart and soul.
Cling to it so that it never leaves you.
This self-image would take you places.
And you would be eternally grateful to yourself for creating it.
