Self-Image Impacts You AND Your Business

Using the Resilient Entrepreneur Canvas, many of you have found it interesting that I focus initially on the mindset, and then on being aware of yourself, your surroundings, and your network. While I am glad to see it is surprising to some of you, I’m also pleased to bring it to your attention.

Through my experience working in this field, it has become clear to me that the words you use to feed to your brain are powerful and impactful to you and what you do.

Self-image can mean self-worth, and self-worth can include what others think of you. I’m not saying you have to wear a suit or dress up every day. Self-image and self-worth are about how you are doing it, why you are doing it, where, and the results you are hoping to achieve.

These become key questions and there are many more of them! We can’t cover them all in a single blog post, but we can start with these few questions.?Think about the image you reflect when you speak or present your product or services — how you dress, and why you dress that way, how you stand, how you speak.?

The image you hope to present of yourself impacts you as a person, and can impact your employees, your customers, and your entire business performance. Think about what your self-image will do for you as well as for the community you live in, and for your business.

It’s up to you to steer that ship!

I say that because there have been times in my career I have been put down or let down by others. I could have thought that I under-performed or personally didn’t do the work that was needed. You should think about that, too. Consider it part of the equation. Whatever you tell yourself about whether others did or didn’t do doesn’t really matter.

What can you do with what you’ve learned to move on? The self-image you hold becomes key to moving forward.

BEFORE YOU GO

We see our blogs as opportunities for dialogue. Please share your thoughts as comments

  1. How do you define self-image, and what factors are part of it?
  2. What are you doing to insure your self image reflects the business you are creating?
  3. How do you keep your self image worthy when others might have put you down?
