Self Image or Ideal Self
David Gilks
I use neuroscience and ancient wisdom to help individuals discover the one thing that will change everything.
I heard this today and thought it was such a valuable and insightful perspective, so thank you @__benjames_ for this. For over two decades I have been helping people remap their bodies, teaching them how to rewire how their mind holds the representation of their movements, strength and posture. In the past 10 years, I have taken a deep interest in doing the same thing, helping clients rewire how their minds hold their representation of who they are mentally, as in their self-image.
What I found fascinating is that for every decision we make we unconsciously access the parts of our history in deciding what our choices mean and the emotional context in which we will experience it.
Though this may not sound too bad, the problems arise when the wounds and limiting beliefs of our past become the foundation for our decisions on our current life.
This displays itself as resentment, envy, jealousy, poor health choices, anger, in fact, every below the line emotion can be traced to our past experiences will give life to that feeling.
So what about your “ideal self What does that look like, feel like? What if you “consciously†decided what emotions you want to live in, to practice daily? What impact would that have on your life if you could remember that everyday?
We are all beset by emotions that threaten to take us out of the game if we allow them to go unchallenged.
Every day I invest time reminding myself of the way in which I want to feel, which gives rise to new and powerful behaviours, creating a life without regret. Create your ideal self at the www.theiamproject.com
