?? Self-Guided Journeys ??
Hello, my friends!
Today, I share with you a short piece from my short course in Alpha state calibration.
In this piece I share about active visualization and self-guided journeys.
I hope you enjoy!

"Self-Guided Journeys
Here is where things really begin to get interesting.
You can listen to guided visualizations on audio. And this is awesome. These inner journeys can be extremely helpful.
It is also helpful to be able to guide our own visualization, and to customize and evolve our inner practice as we grow.
If we rely overmuch on guided visualization audios, then it will be much harder for us to guide our own journey.
So, while these audio bits are amazing in the beginning, I highly recommend taking off the training wheels and stepping into the deeper levels of inner journeying.

I use the term active visualization for things that are more concrete and focused.
Like helping our body to grow, learning a body of knowledge, teaching our body a skill, moving energy, or inviting healing and blessing.
Journeying takes it deeper.
This is why you have been practicing the Feather Focus exercise.
In order to enter the journey state, we have to shift the balance of our experience more towards the subconscious than the conscious.
In fact, the conscious mind is learning to let go and act as a passenger during the experience.
We set the container with intention and a plan for the journey, and then we walk the path and let it reveal itself to us, using as little intention as possible, just like a movie was unfolding in our minds.
*
It takes time and practice to learn how to be fully alert while completely, deeply relaxed.
And it takes creative play to discover the many ways we can make use of the inner journey to benefit our life experience.

I will share just a few ideas for use in this space.
In my years of roaming the inner worlds, I spent much time as an oak tree, feeling my roots and my branches, feeling the sun warming my leaves and bringing life to my being.
And as a wolf hunting with my pack in the light of the moon.
Or the stag, attuned to the subtleties of the forest, keenly aware of the slightest shift in the space.
And a salmon darting through the river.
With each, I learned to envision the space around me and my relation to it in different ways.
*
I spent time in a cave where I confronted my shadows, and where I return from time to time when deeper layers of myself are revealed to me.
Each time I meet these shadows, I learn humility, and I come to see more deeply the reasons for my experiences.
And I crafted a temple, a space within to hear the scattered parts of my bring, to bring them together and continue the march toward wholeness
I regularly enter my inner space and sit across the fire from my inner teacher, inviting clarity and wisdom regarding my path and current situations.

Every different use of the journey state offers unique benefits. So the key is self-knowledge.
During your regular check-ins, listen to what is coming up for you.
Observe yourself from within, watching for the reflexive responses and overall trends.
And, when you take space for a small self-guided journey, set an intention to address whatever is loudest or most pressing for you in that moment or that space in life.
*
Get creative, envisioning spaces in nature, cultivated paths, however you would like.
And whatever needs you have, address these needs first in the inner space, aligning with the qualities which best suit them, in your perception, emotion, and action patterns."
