Self-Gratitude
Recently, I completed a Thank You themed run through Nike's running app with Coach Chris Bennett. The run wasn't about achieving mileage, it was simply focused on the concept of acknowledging our efforts on being a better, wiser, more skilled version of ourselves.
In a world driven by goals, accolades, possessions, and competition - performance exhaustion has the propensity to creep into our whole being. This happens either because we may have forgotten our why or are unable to pause. Sometimes we may be so focused on the destination that the journey is minimized and/or overlooked.?
So, the next time you are feeling drained in the performance exhaustion of life take a moment to thank yourself. Thank yourself for showing up, putting in the work, getting through the challenge, being present, and essentially giving it your best.
Practicing gratitude enhances our overall well-being. It improves our mental health by rewiring our?thinking for the better. Expressing gratitude can even strengthen our connections and relationships. Gratitude is a great tool to access positive emotions or take an optimistic solution-oriented approach to life's challenges.?
So, what do you appreciate about yourself? Why?
If you find it hard to make time to appreciate yourself or feel like you are only find success in external achievements and validation - you are not alone.
Find out how we can work together (on your right)!
