Self discovery for meaningful work using A.I.

Self discovery for meaningful work using A.I.

~59% of employees are considered to be disengaged, aka referred to as "quiet quitting," where they do the bare minimum without enthusiasm according to multiple studies.

And ~18% of employees are actively disengaged. They are not just engaged but are also likely to be a disgruntled worker spreading toxicity in the workplace.

There's a many reasons for these stats.

And with mass layoffs and instability of corporate work, many people are resorting to other ways to find meaningful work.

What does that mean for you in finding fulfilling work?

This goes back to basics on our human needs. We have to understand what we need and what we ultimately desire.

A great representation of our needs are Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs.

Pyramid view of Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs

As we progress from bottom to top of pyramid, each layer becomes more complex and harder to achieve

Another way to view this pyramid is through this graph showing the needs becomes more intense to self-actualization (transcendence).

Dynamic view of Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs

Whether you work for a corporation or own business, it's important to discover more about your needs. These two visuals matter for understanding yourself to designing a life you want and deciding what kind of work you will offer to your customers.

To help with this self discovery, I made 4 prompts for you to review for discovering more about yourself. They will help give you business ideas for your ideal customer profile (ICP) based on your interests. From there you can create a quiz for your customers to assess deeper into their needs

Prompt1: What are some questions to ask myself to find meaningful and fulfilling work?

Output1 sample:
...
What are my core values

What activities make me lose track of time?

What are my skills and strengths?
...

These questions are also part of the amazing book I recommend 'Designing your life' by Bill Burnett . I took part in his workshops while I was a graduate student at 美国斯坦福大学 .

For next prompt, I got inspiration from Dan Koe and Dakota Robertson focusing on focusing on customer pains and benefits relating to health, wealth, and relationships.

Prompt2: From those, with intersection of my interests in [ideal customer profile], how can I assess if there's a market for it focusing on either of these things of health (nutrition, fitness, mindfulness), wealth (personal finance, entrepreneurship, investing), and relationships (dating, marriage, family)?

Output2 sample with my ICP as A.I. and productivity:
Step 1: Define Your Niche

Health:
- AI tools for fitness tracking, personalized nutrition plans, or mindfulness and mental wellness.

Wealth:
- AI tools for personal finance management, entrepreneurship support, or investment advisory.

Relationships:
- AI tools for relationship advice, dating assistance, or family management.

For this next prompt, we want to use these business ideas to create a template (in Notion, etc.) for your potential customers to fill out.

Prompt3: Can you make a template for me on this so I can have my customers fill out?

Output3 sample:
...
Section 2: Current Challenges and Pain Points
1. What are your biggest challenges as a solopreneur or small business owner? (Select all that apply)
- Time management
- Financial management
- Health and wellness
- Relationship management
- Other (please specify):

2. Please describe any specific pain points you encounter in your daily work or personal life related to these challenges:
...

And finally, from this template, we'll make a quiz and give customers an estimate of where they are in their journey based on whatever interest/business idea you're proposing to them.

Prompt4: Can you make this template a quiz for customers giving them a quiz result of where they are in their journey?

Output4 sample:
...
Section 3: Interest in AI Solutions

How familiar are you with AI-powered tools and solutions?
- Very familiar (3 points)
- Somewhat familiar (2 points)
- Not familiar (1 point)
...
