The Almighty God, our creator put you here on this earth and that means you deserve the best for yourself. Sometimes for whatever reason, we are surrounded by people who make us feel like they are better or we should put them first and our needs second or last which means we sacrifice so many things. Focus on self preservation, meaning, put up boundaries to protect yourself, your time and energy. Think, reflect on present and past situations which may have gotten you to question yourself.
However, more importantly, look to the future! When you care about yourself, great things will happen to you and appear out from no where. This has happened to me. My mother expected her only child to put up with her and look her needs first after my father's demise. But a year ago she fell down in our garden and broke her thigh bone which needed urgent surgery and she had to be bed ridden for more than 6 months from where she never recovered. It is was the time of Covid-19 hitting our country and fortunately for us
Get advise and talk to a well trusted friend who comes from a healthy family. Get tips on boundaries. This is something that should be taught in school! Without healthy boundaries, people will take advantage of you and drain the life out of you! Stay away from troubled people as it will rub off on you and if you are not aware of these sort of vampires, then read about it - it's interesting to watch how a dysfunctional person lives their pathetic life!
However, in this mean world there are so many people who do not get proper advice. We need to learn to guide yourself if that is what it takes. That's what I've had to do as I've had to and still do parent myself. I value myself and so should you! It took me years to learn this. I feel like giving back to humanity and people like yourself is how I can contribute. I do not judge. We all come from different backgrounds and if I can help anyone even just a little bit, that's all that matters!
Self-Care of oneself describes a conscious act that a person performs in order to improve his own physical, mental and emotional health. There are many forms of self-care. This could be ensuring that you get enough sleep each night or going outside for a few minutes to get some fresh air. Self-Care is defined as “a multidimensional and multifaceted process of intentional participation in strategies that promote healthy functioning and improve well-being.” remove. When you take steps to take care of your mind and body, you will be better equipped to live your best life.
Unfortunately, however, many people consider personal care a luxury, not a priority. As a result, they feel overwhelmed, tired, and ill-equipped to cope with life’s inevitable challenges. It is important to evaluate how you take care of yourself in several different domains to ensure that you caring for your mind, body, and spirit. You need to take care of your body if you want it to function effectively. Keep in mind that there is a strong connection between your body and your mind. Physical self-care includes how you feed your body, how much you sleep, how much physical activity you do, and how well you take care of your physical needs. Holding appointments, taking medication as prescribed, and monitoring your health is part of good personal physical care. When it comes to taking physical care of yourself, ask yourself the following questions to assess if there are areas where you need to improve, ask yourself these questions as a health check list: Do you get enough sleep? Does your diet feed your body well? Do you take responsibility for your health? Are you exercising enough?
Mental self care also involves a series of things to be followed. Socialization is key to taking care of yourself. But it is often difficult to find time for friends and it is easy to neglect your relationships when life becomes difficult. Close relationships are important to your well-being. The best way to cultivate and maintain close relationships is to spend time and energy building relationships with others. There is no set amount of hours you should spend with friends or working on your relationships. We all have slightly different social needs. It is crucial to determine what your social needs are and to have enough time in your schedule to create an optimal social life.
In order to Assess Social Self-Care, check yourself: Do you have enough time face to face with friends? What do you do to nurture your relationships with friends and family? Mental Self-Care is the way you think and the things that fill your mind greatly affect your psychological well-being. It normally involves actions that keep your mind sharp, like puzzles, or learning about a topic that fascinates you. You may find that reading books or watching movies inspires you to feed your mind. Mental care also includes actions that help you stay mentally healthy. Practicing self-esteem and acceptance, for example, helps you maintain a healthier inner dialogue. Be healthy with self care, Cheers!
