SENIOR LEADER ROLE

Want to feel Exhausted? Overwhelmed? Undervalued? APPLY NOW!

Obviously, you'd be mad to apply, but with almost 2000 CEOs in the US quitting their roles in 2023 - a 55% increase from the previous year - burnout is a sad reality of leadership today, Now, with a general election on the horizon, we’re about to be plunged into yet another period of uncertainty.

You don't need me to tell you it can be bloody lonely at the top. High-performance leadership demands significant energy and resilience - that means nourishing yourself, physically, mentally and emotionally.

Where's your support system and how will you access it?

If you’re not prioritising your own self-care, you can't be expected to effectively care for your team, lead with confidence and clarity and drive your business forward.

Through my own candid lens, using proven techniques and tools from The Real Method , I’m here to challenge yet another old and outdated belief - that 'leaders should eat last'.

I’ve known enough senior leaders - men and women - simply ‘cope’ - until they can’t. It’s not worth the risk. Trust me, there's no 'badge of honour' for feeling exhausted and depleted.

A bit of selfishness is more than OK - in fact, it’s strategic leadership and, as your Pocket Mentor, I’m here to make sure you're looking after you, so that you can enjoy an energising and rewarding leadership role.

Meanwhile, try these 7 quick fire questions, designed to help you identify and address areas of stress or growth and give you some fast insight into how you prioritise your self-care:?

  1. How are you? (really!) Write 3-5 emotions and be honest. Now make it a daily habit.
  2. How is your nervous system? With clients, I often find the clue to this in their skin tone and body language (grey, tense, tired, stressed, sub-concious fidgeting etc) ?
  3. When was the last time you did something that brought you real joy? If this was recent, well done! How can you repeat this? If you can't remember, that’s OK. Plan your diary around doing something that will.
  4. When was the last time you truly relaxed and let go? Bake time into your diary to create much needed space for you to unplug, both inside and outside work. The space will be there, you need to be brave enough to carve it out.
  5. Are you saying no to things that you know you should do? Do an audit of the last 2 weeks of meetings and see where your time and energy were spent. Was it going into the right or wrong places? What needs to change?
  6. How are you helping to manage the reality of workload? Again, sometimes you need to fully unplug to plug back in.
  7. Finally, what are the ‘golden keys’ to taking care of yourself? To help you, here are mine: - Our gorgeous rescue dog, Rolo - the best form of self-care ever! - Exercise. I’m a (very!) reluctant gym bunny but I’m committed to seeing a PT twice a week and I'm 5 weeks into Couch to 5K which helps clear my head and awake my body - No early morning meetings in London - Time spent with my family (non-negotiable) - Bridgerton Season 3 (my guilty pleasure!)
