What is self-acceptance? Self-acceptance does not mean you don't have room?for?self-improvement.?Self-acceptance is accepting the 'baseline?you'. Who you were born as, the way life has shaped you to the present moment and the choices you are making in the now.?
Self-acceptance means "This is me... good, bad and indifferent as I stand here and look in the virtual mirror of now. I can't change the essence of who biology?made me,?I can't change the past that has shaped?me—either by?my choices or the choices others made for me. I am a child of God/Source and the spark of?divinity/the quantum universe breathes every breath I take. I do not resent who I am, because in this moment it is impossible for?me to be anything else. I accept that?am as I am. And in the next moment, I will already be different for having lived this one."
It is that simple. This acknowledgement—or a similar acknowledgement that is meaningful to you—is the first step in self-acceptance, and the first step to learning to forgive and love yourself in the now. Yes there is room for new learning! Yes there is room for new choices as they are presented to you! Yes... accepting what IS... you-in-the-now... is the most powerful way to acknowledge your readiness for healing, for growth and for a flourishing life in the future. Try making this practice of self-acceptance a new morning ritual to jump start your day... and your life.
