Selective Laser Melting-processed MoS2/Mo2S3 nanocomposite for Energy Conversion/Storage Applications

Selective Laser Melting-processed MoS2/Mo2S3 nanocomposite for Energy Conversion/Storage Applications

I, on behalf of co-authors, am thrilled and proud of announcing our recent breakthrough published in Scientific Reports. The existence of nanoparticles in high temperatures (particularly higher than a melting point) has somehow been impossible. In this article, we have shown how we moved beyond thermodynamic rules and distributed highly electroactive Mo2S3 nanoparticles in a laser-based thinned 1T/2H MoS2 phase to create a 3D-printed nanocomposite, providing high power density and high energy density, through one-step selective laser melting process. The publication was supported by the KTH Royal Institute of Technology. The concept and research were funded by the European Regional Development Fund, the Estonian Education and Youth Board, and the Estonian Government.

We are open and highly interested in starting collaborations and developing this initiative field of science and technology.
