An equally indispensable approach in minimizing these risks involves employing gas detection and monitoring equipment, capable of promptly alerting workers and others to hazardous circumstances such as elevated gas concentrations. Nonetheless, it is imperative to meticulously choose the most suitable gas detection and monitoring system, while considering optimal methods of alerting workers to gas presence.

Gas detection and monitoring systems can be broadly categorized as fixed and portable variants.

Portable Gas Detectors

Fixed Gas Detectors

Typically hard-wired, these detectors link to a central control panel, with wireless options emerging to eliminate the need for complex wiring.
