SelectedWorks is Shutting Down: Download Articles, Presentations, and Book Chapters For Free While You Still Can

As those of you in academe may already know, Elsevier is discontinuing SelectedWorks on December 31, 2024. For many years, this platform has allowed readers worldwide to access many of my most popular publications. Unfortunately, after the end of this year, these resources will no longer be available online.

Currently, my personal SelectedWorks page includes:

• More than 40 articles on translation technology, terminology management, and controlled language; including the first of many articles that appeared in The ATA Chronicle: a piece on converting paper dictionary entries into electronic term bases (commissioned by Mercedes-Benz and still relevant today).
• Over 30 conference presentations exploring innovative approaches to translation for freelance translators, translation agencies, and corporate translation buyers.
• 13 book chapters, including many that deal with teaching translation and terminology management.
• And something that I’m particularly proud of: the patent application for an automatic terminology extraction process I developed the year after I graduated, more than 25 years ago.
