Select The Right Fuel For Your Mercedes-Benz

Select The Right Fuel For Your Mercedes-Benz

You don’t have to know very much about cars to know that Mercedes-Benz produces high quality, high performance, and high maintenance vehicles. Mercedes-Benz has many vehicle types, including classic, high-performance, and high-end luxury vehicles. As surely as the features, trim, and technology are different for each class and type of vehicle, so there are different types of fuel that should be used for each.

Some owners may suggest that it’s not necessary to use high octane gasoline in your Mercedes-Benz, as long as you do not mix higher and lower octane gases. They admit that it affects performance, but not that it actually harms the engine. This is nonsensical as the performance of the engine is how one determines its health.

Classic Mercedes-Benz Vehicles

You may remember the 2000 Mercedes-Benz CL 55 AMG. There are other classic Mercedes-Benz, but none compared to the CL 55 AMG. When this vehicle debuted, there wasn’t a car like it on the market. It was a vehicle designed only for serious auto enthusiasts. The sophisticated coupe boasts 493 horsepower available with a V8 or V12 engine. With that type of power, you need the proper fuel to ensure that this classic vehicle remains a treasure in full operating order.

The 2000 Mercedes-Benz CL 55 AMG, like other Mercedes-Benz classics that use gasoline and not diesel fuel, require a higher caliber of gas than regular unleaded gas with 87 octane. These special engines require premium unleaded 91 octane gasoline or higher. If you try putting a lower grade of gasoline in any classic Mercedes-Benz vehicle, you may find yourself on the side of the road or paying for repairs that could have simply been avoided.

The classic Mercedes-Benz has multi-point engines, which means that it is more complex than standard engines, enhancing the driver’s experience in speed, power, and overall handling. Regular unleaded gasoline is diluted compared to gasoline that contain higher octane, and because of this, regular unleaded gas stunts the power of a classic Mercedes-Benz engine.

High Performance Mercedes-Benz Vehicles

One of the new members of the high-performance Mercedes-Benz vehicle class is the Mercedes-AMG S 63 4MATIC+. These vehicles are known to be the best of the best, but this 4MATIC+ is the creme de la creme. Everything on this vehicle is new and improved. It was designed to exceed drivers’ expectations by performing better, consuming less fuel, and reducing CO2 emissions.

The Mercedes-AMG S 63 4MATIC+ is the first high-efficiency vehicle of its class to shift gears in a short time, and features different driving comfort profiles. This high performance vehicle requires fuel that can match its level of performance. Premium gasoline of 91 or higher is what is needed to deliver a smooth ride every time it’s driven. Like other high performance vehicles, fueling it with sub-par gasoline could cause the engine to lock or cause other vehicle operations to malfunction.

Luxury Mercedes-Benz Vehicles

When it comes to luxury, it’s all about the Mercedes-Benz S-Class series. This vehicle is known for being the pioneer of luxury vehicles, and helps to predict great things to come for future S-Class vehicles. The S-Class series is as visually stunning with its sleek appearance as it is powerful with its V8 engine. New technology alerts you to danger to help keep you safe, improving the luxury that is a dream to drive. Because this vehicle is a luxury edition, you can bet that it needs more than regular gas. Lower grades of fuel not only cause the vehicle to malfunction, but can also cause slower response to driver commands. Braking and accelerating can be affected, causing jerking and sluggish performance.

High-End Luxury Mercedes-Benz Vehicles

All the glory and fame goes to the Mercedes-Maybach. This sedan is advanced elegance that focuses on the ultimate driving experience. Aside from the outstanding technology of the Mercedes-Maybach that allows you to hold the future in your hands, features dual resolution screens and an intuitive touch-pad, makes the exterior of this vehicle just as impressive as the interior. This high-end luxury vehicle is available with a V8 or V12 engine, and when you have that type of engine, lower octane fuels will never be able to get the job done.

The Mercedes-Maybach is the best of the best when it comes to this class of vehicle, and it needs fuel that will keep it on top. Gasoline containing higher octane does not burn as quickly as gasoline with lower octane. Gas with higher octane is thicker because it doesn’t contain as much water as regular gas. This thicker consistency provides better lubrication for the engine than regular unleaded gas, requiring less oil changes.

A high-end luxury vehicle of this stature could fall from grace if fueled with regular unleaded gas. A Mercedes-Benz is an investment, and using thicker higher octane fuel will help to preserve it. Spending a few dollars more on better fuel saves you from breaking the bank on repairs due to malfunctions or irregularities that using fuels containing lower levels of octane are sure to cause problems.

Regardless of the type of Mercedes-Benz that you drive, you will always need fuel with 91 octane or higher. Maintaining these elite automobiles is already costly, and even worse if you use lower grade fuel. High end vehicles require high end maintenance, and fuel that costs more money is just a part of the program.
