Many of you often view your service year as a mere waiting period, a time to relax and enjoy life before the "real world" begins. However, I encourage you to see it as a golden opportunity for personal and professional growth.

• Embrace Your Role: Take your PPA seriously. Even small tasks can provide valuable learning experiences and opportunities to contribute to your organization's success.
• Be a Team Player: Collaborate with your colleagues, offer assistance, and learn from their experiences. Remember, teamwork is key to achieving great results.
• Avoid Competition: Build positive relationships and foster a collaborative work environment.
• Skill Development: While serving your nation, prioritize acquiring essential skills that will make you stand out in the job market. Communication, interpersonal skills, time management, problem-solving, integrity, initiative, and adaptability are just a few examples.
• Growth Mindset: Embrace a growth mindset and seek opportunities to volunteer and contribute to your community.
• Career Planning: Determine your desired career path and start preparing for it. You should consider finding a mentor or accountability partner to guide you.
• Networking: Build connections with like-minded individuals through platforms like LinkedIn. Networking can open doors to future opportunities.
• Avoid the "Arrival Mentality": Don't approach your service year with a sense of entitlement. Be willing to learn and adapt.
