Seize the year with my gift! ??

2022 is behind us, and cheers to 2023 as a chance to begin a new life chapter! ??????

I am glad these Holidays are over. This past season, all my planned festivities were abruptly canceled, which forced me to reflect on how the best-laid plans don't always turn out as we anticipate and what to do about it.

This year, I had to suddenly cancel the sumptuous dinner I had planned. ??The duck I was going to roast is back in the freezer. The ingredients for the Yule log I would have baked stand like patient little soldiers in my kitchen cupboard. The lemon bars I was going to gift to my neighbors got eaten by me. The gifts ?? I had lovingly selected are still wrapped in smirking defiance by the chimney mantel. In my refrigerator, chills a corked bottle of my favorite Champagne ?? once reserved for a New Year's eve celebration.

On December 24th, I felt invincible. It was a beautiful sunny and crisp day here in Silicon Valley, where I live. I swam a mile in the morning. In the afternoon, I enjoyed a six-mile hike on my favorite local trail. A mere 24 hours later, I lay in bed with aches, pains, and chills. A home test confirmed that I had caught the Covid 19 virus. Forced to self-quarantine and cancel the festivities, I felt pathetically sorry for myself. ??

But such is life. Sometimes it is wonderful. Sometimes, it teaches us how to seize the day in another way.

With all this time on my hands, I decided to focus on my new year's resolution. As I wrote profusely in my journal, I listed my priorities for 2023: Swim faster, hike the Alps this summer, publish my book, learn Italian... and, as always, continue to follow my life mission: helping more people live a life with freedom by guiding them to start the right business.

With this isolation ?? I suddenly had plenty of time to reflect on what YOU might need from me at the beginning of this New Year.
