A Sehwag Moment for Us. Thank You!

In cricket, when one hits a triple century with a six, I call it a Sehwag moment. It reflects not only stamina, but an immense hunger to score more and a total disdain to your opponent. No one is allowed between you and your goal. It is not arrogance towards any individual or any concept. It is your belief on yourself! It is not about scoring a brownie point but a reassurance to your stakeholders that the person/organization should is working hard.

We are going through our own Sehwag moment at work. Yes, we have completed communications for 300 IPOs and the last six came in the past one week from a same Investment Bank!?

Having associated with over 47 Investment Banks and nearly 500 clients (nearly 200 of them for other capital-market related transactions such as open offers, M&As, Rights Issues, NCDs, Bonds Issues, etc.), one thing is reinforced on me… it takes different kind of humans to make this world. We have been though friends, service-oriented people, cost conscious people, people who value client’s/investor’s benefit first, people who see their benefit first, employees first people, hard-working people, smart working people, lazy people, faithful people, chameleons, warriors, back-stabbers, negativity spreaders, positivity spreaders. They are all there! It takes all kind of people to make this world.

I thank all of them, their billings don’t matter as much as their teaching does. Forget about the billing, all of them have taught me one thing or the other. Thank you. It is you I am grateful as your teaching has helped us gain a lion’s share in the market and also tide past several challenges like economic downturn, pandemic, etc. Whichever way one does look at it, the resolve is to deliver, on customer delight, on being the most reliable team in the business, on being most cost effective.

The last 15-17 years have been successful to us. The next 15 years promise to be exciting. The fast-changing landscapes promise one thing to us and it is that it is going to be innovator’s time. Innovations that bring change. Innovations that make the systems go faster, higher and stronger. No one brings more innovation on IPO communications in India!

The Sehwag Moment has come to us on being relevant and friendly. It is not everyday that the moment arrives. It has been the blood, sweat and toil of the entire team who worked. Past and current.
