SEGUE: Systems, Processes and Automation

My passion is systemising. I love developing and setting up processes, systems, and automation.

All with a bent to make things more organised, more efficient, less prone to errors and issues.

Here’s how extreme I am in this. My workshop is set up mainly for me to ‘play’ with my motorbike collection. Every man needs a workshop right ??

Here’s the funny thing, when I go out to work on a bike, I often get sidetracked setting up another workshop ‘thing’.

Might be an extra overhead airline, a better rack or shelf, improvements to all manner of workshop ‘bling’, but I love it, and do the same in my business on a daily basis.

The less reliant our business is on ‘us’ then the better business model we have.

I heard it defined that a true ‘business’ is one that will run without the business owner and that anything else means you’re either self-employed or run a ‘practice’ type business as such. And that’s OK in itself, personally, I want the ‘machine’ to run by itself.

The more systemised, the more processes or checks we have in place the better, same as the more automation we have, the more effective we can be, and the more efficient our business and people can be.

The less reliant on us, the better.
