SEEKING ILLUSTRATORS FOR BOOK PROJECT 

Black Hawk Literary Agency is seeking talented new illustrators to represent as your agent. Normally, we only represent authors but we are currently in negotiation with a major international book publisher for a new children's picture. The publisher is eager to proceed and has asked us for suggestions for artists/illustrators, and therefore we seek talented artists! Since Jan Kardys has worked for ten major book publishers in various departments: Editorial, Art, Production, Subsidiary Rights, Foreign Rights, and run various major Contract Departments, and Barbara Ellis was a feature writer and then an editor-in-chief at a major US newspaper and edits all of our manuscripts before we submit them to book publishers, we have a wealth of experience, knowledge and enthusiasm for our clients. Barbara and Jan work as a team and with our combined talents have achieved some amazing book deals. 

If we submit your artwork (a few samples) to the publisher on your behalf, we would be your agent and sign an agency agreement with you. There are no fees for you - we only take 30% of the advance from the publisher, and royalties (or any other income from the book) after the book earns out the advance.
