Today, class 10th results got declared. My niece called me crying. Immediately, I got scared because she has been brilliant throughout. She was sobbing continuously and the silence made me cross my fingers. In that moment, I was just calculating the bare minimum score which a genius like her should be contented with. My sister took the phone and started laughing only to tell me that Tanvi has scored 96.5 percent with 98.4 percent in best 5. ?????
Huhh.?? I wish I could just go and hug her. She was upset as she wanted better.
Me: Tanvi, common. You did so well. You made me proud little darling. Why on earth would you cry at such an awesome score???
Tanvi: (still sobbing)I got 94 in Science. How can I loose 6 marks? ??
Me: Are you serious? You are least interested in that subject. You got 99 in French, 100 in mathematics and Computer Science. What else would you want? How can you not be happy? Who cries on such a score.??
Tanvi: ( clearing tears) You. Mom told me, you also cried whole day when you got 94 percent. ??
Me: ( silent for a moment) Stupid I was and stupid you are! That's true, I wanted to be the best before I started my journey of being best version of myself. ?? Silly, cry but then rejoice. Rejoice for all the hard work and efforts you have put in because one day you would realize that it is important to achieve but more crucial is to maintain. And that is when nothing else will matter. ??
Me : I am glad that you established a mark for yourself.
Now, Go ahead! Get lost, explore life, find yourself, unleash what's within, Try till you fail, Rise again and then one day, Be yourself. Best version of yourself.??
Love
