Seek Selective Stardom

Andy Warhol once quipped,
“In the future, everyone will be famous for 15 minutes.”
While I believe we all get our moment in the spotlight, I think it's not just about time, but who's watching!
The trick is to be the go-to star for a specific group of fans. Nail that, and you might just stay famous to them forever, not just for 15 minutes!
Personal branding means being selectively famous – visible, available and valuable to the people you seek to impact, influence and impress. To the rest of the 7.9 billion people in the world, you can be completely invisible.
In this episode:
To achieve your goals, you need to be ever present in the hearts and minds of those who can support you. The key is focusing on forging deep, resonant relationships with those who truly value what you have to offer rather than chasing broad, shallow popularity. It's about establishing yourself as someone influential among those you most want to impact, not capturing widespread fame.
Before you start sharing content of value, you must be crystal clear about who is in your brand community (or target audience). To make it simple, think of your brand community as the people who need to know you and those you need to know so you can achieve your goals. It includes your peers, internal/external clients, senior leaders, decision makers and those who influence them, people who want to learn from you and potentially work with/for you and thought-leaders in your field.
Once you’re clear about who’s in your brand community, develop your personal content marketing plan so you can be visible and deliver value to the members of your community. This will help you build a fan club and ultimately turn those fans into promoters who help you spread your message, expand your brand and achieve your goals.
Creating a content marketing plan can be time consuming; after all, you have a demanding day job! So you need to develop ways to deliver value to your brand community to make maximum impact with minimal effort required.
Time-crunch? Day job wearing you out? No worries! Here are three of my power-packed strategies to maximize impact without burning out:

Embrace Smart Work (AKA: Be Lazy!)
Forget slogging. Create content once and repurpose it for various platforms. Delivered a killer online presentation? Convert it into a SlideShare, snip segments for YouTube, or even transform the transcript into a captivating LinkedIn article. Reusing content is essential.
Collaborate & Shine!
Join forces with members of your brand community. By associating with others, you borrow some of their glitz and glamour (while sharing some of yours). You halve the content creation effort and double the impact of that effort. Team up for a podcast, co-write an article, or drop some wisdom-packed quotes. It’s all about elevating each other!
Spread the Sexiness of Statistics
Facts and figures grab attention. Throw in a compelling statistic, and your audience will hang on to every word. Search for relevant stats and share them. Add your unique spin to make them even more irresistible. Remember, it's all about delivering value and being memorable.

When planning your rise to selective stardom, incorporate these simple strategies. They’re designed to not only make you shine but also to keep your brand community engaged.
