Seeing the Truth in What We Are Doing
The wisdom in a comment shared by Melody ?? Belliveau sparked the idea of this post.
Melody wrote, “We need to see the truth in what we are doing”.
Thinking about is I may add also in whatever we do such as seeing the truth in what we are thinking.
Examples make the above wisdom shine.
If you walk and you discover that you have sand pebbles inside your shoes, would you continue to walk in pain? If one does this then he is not doing the right thing. What is right is to stop and throw the pebbles out and walk their way in life in peace.
We tend to walk the path of life with emotional pebbles in our shoes. We tend also to walk with negatives pebbles filling our shoes and yet go on suffering instead of throwing those pebbles out.

Unfortunately, we tend to walk the path by throwing away what we should keep. We discard failed trials, keep the negative emotional pebbles hurting us, and preclude our advancement.
We allow the pebbles of negative thoughts with their sharp edges to injure us and to bleed even more. We add more pebbles of emotional and negative thinking. We preclude our own advancement.
The way out is not only to throw the pebbles out but also how to turn them into pebbles of creative thinking by seeing their truth.
When you do something like sharing a post and you get no comments, it is easy to fall in despair. The healthy mind stops to ask what I learn from this experience. Maybe the subject of the post does not appeal to readers. Maybe I wrote it vaguely. Was the timing of its publication right? You see asking questions to find out the good in what you do next is wisdom and learning opportunity. Your next steps shall be more confident.
It is time that we stop and to review what we are doing and thinking is right or not. This is the way to move forward

1 年Thank you my friends for taking the time to share my post. I appreciate you all Oluwaseyi Akinruntan Leslie Flowers Wadood Rana Raed AL-Taji AL-Farouki (???? ????????)
First, let me say how honored I am that my words were an instrument of inspiration for you Ali Anani, PhD. My apologies for taking so long to respond. I believe part of the problem is, instead of examining the shoe for the pebbles (the hurts in our lives), we tend to fight the idea of their relevance. Often we hear to leave the past behind - and many struggle to do just that - and end up with the thoughts “but I can’t - It still hurts”. To remove the shoe and see the insights from the past is the only way to discard the pebbles. We can’t just walk away from our past without carrying the pain with us. It becomes our baggage of our future. There are things to learn about ourselves in them. Sometimes it simply is to know what our core values and beliefs are and to learn how to create healthy boundaries out of them. Otherwise we cycle through the same situations with different people. When we see what we’re meant to out of it, we are able to release ourselves and move on. It becomes growth in who we are. Thanks for such an important and thought provoking topic to reflect upon. Thoughts become things and our thoughts need not be weapons we use on ourselves. ???????

1 年The question: What is Truth? keeps the human mind in search for answers since centuries. Does a clean mirror reflect the true image? Does a clean, intact window offer the true perspective? I believe that the seeds of Truth are everywhere, in each and every action, in each and every spoken or written word. We are the sum of past and actual emotions, moments of truth, revelations, questions and answers.

1 年Let’s ask a few fundamental questions: What is the role of truthfulness in our lives? In our leadership? The question of truthfulness has been in the forefront and center in recent times. In fact, some would say that the truth has been getting shoved aside in favor of ‘whatever works’. How did we get here? And is there a cost to the aspiration of becoming a great leader? A great society? I don’t think so. If people and organisations in this age want to grow and stay in thr forefront, they have to strengthen their moral and ethical standards more than ever before. Great writing, Ali Anani, PhD
