Not Seeing The Tree and Welcoming Other Sparks of Genius
I am sure that you are familiar with those drink and paint night evenings that you can plan with friends.
I participated in one of those nights once as a group activity with a bunch of fellow visionaries. A tree. We were supposed to paint a tree. “Here are your colors, now follow me.” Not one single person painted what they were told to. Hilarious. Before you feel too sorry for our host, she knew her audience pretty quickly.
We understood the assignment, to make a painting. But our superpower is to think beyond the tree and outside the box, to see the tools in front of us, and make it even better. To see the potential of 5 colors and a canvas and be inspired by the creativity around us.
What happened to my painting? Oh, I painted over it a week later ... I had an even better idea.
No apologies.

1 年I wasn't sure if I should love this or laugh with it. IYKYK. Keep chasing shiny objects and painting over with the new (better) version of your dream "tree" . #staycreative
