Not Seeing Armageddon In The Rear view Mirror , might just be our denial of what Happened on Good Friday.
Part Four Total Victory Proven and Secured on that First Easter Sunday
As we walk into our final lesson in this series I would hope we have been encouraged to keep digging, keep exploring this topic of see Armageddon as a true Happened, Happening, and Future event and that the Armageddon Battle has been waged and won by Cross, and that the Major Battle occurred on that First Good Friday thru Easter Battle field.
Today our focus takes us to the victory of Easter Sunday, and we will be looking at;
1) Just How Bad ARE We
2) All Out War
3) Total Victory, Needed Total Price Paid, Total Purchase of our Souls, Total Cleansing Of Our Sins
Please promise me that we both will continue to look at and honestly see the already fulfilled signs of Revelation.
1) Just How Bad ARE We;
During my thoughts on how we were going to finish up our lessons on this novel understanding that Armageddon may actually have already occurred, and that a proper reading of the Bible actually tells us such.
We also should always note that should the HOLY SPIRIT not open our Eyes, we too would never see or understand this.
As I write this lesson, in the Providence of GOD I have been listening, and Re-listening to the Genesis 18 & 19 Account of the Destruction of Sodom & Gomorra (Posted at the bottom of our lesson) and as you will see our understanding of this account perhaps is will explain whether the HOLY SPIRIT has opened our eyes to what really is going on here.
What do I mean?
Well the Standard, Pastor in a Church, and Rabbi in a Synagogue will teach this lesson as the Destruction of evil Sodom & Gomorra for all of the Evil things they have done, and though they are partially right, it is only in a full reading of the account that we actually should be getting the truth between the eyes.
Let’s look at what is going on, as the ANGEL of the LORD, the pre-incarnate Christ HIMSELF will negotiate with Abraham for the Sake of the Righteous in Sodom & Gomorra, and we pick it up on Abraham asking the LORD not to Destroy The Cities for the Sake of 50, then 45, then 30, then 20 and gets down to 10, and The ANGEL of the LORD says to Abraham, HE will not destroy them even for the sake of 10 Righteous.
Well before I get to this point, I want you to be honest here, and I will be as well, if like me, we have heard over and over Rabbis and Pastors compare Cities like Las Vegas and San Francisco, New York, Amsterdam, and others as being today’s Sodom & Gomorra, as they are so evil.
I actually swallowed this kind of (CRAP) teaching, it’s the Predominant teaching and WE ALL Know it and sadly I actually believed it to be true, and Yet it is fully it Bull S, and the Bible, Old and New Testament tells us it is Bull S, and yet because our Pastors and Rabbis are Religious Teachers (Pharisees) as I too was, as the Old Testament Psalm 53:2 God has looked down from heaven upon the sons of men To see if there is anyone who understands, Who seeks after God.
3 Every one of them has turned aside; together they have become corrupt; There is no one who does good, not even one. Psalm 51:4 Against You, You only, I have sinned And done what is evil in Your sight, So that You are justified when You speak And blameless when You judge.
5 Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, And in sin my mother conceived me. New Testament Romans 3:10 as it is written, "THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS, NOT EVEN ONE;
Now back to the ANGEL of the LORD negotiating with Abraham for the sake of the Righteous in the Cities, what did Christ already know, and it could have been my Hometown of Hackettstown, New Jersey, Birth city of Montclair, New Jersey, or any town of City you insert the name, how many in any Town or City throughout the world have even one Righteous Person living there?
This was the point as the LORD could Have and still could destroy any of these cities, but Sodom & Gomorra are the two HE chose to use as HIS Righteous Example to rightfully destroy while mercifully sparing our Towns.
Please ask the HOLY SPIRIT to open our ears to hearing the very next time our Pastors, Rabbis and other religious teachers say “They are just like Sodom & Gomorra” we say, and mean it, as is our town.
We will address this issue in our next series, ”Is The Church Killing Christianity?” that will be a 3 to 4 part look at what has corrupted the Church and Synagogue.
Next
2) All Out War;
As you peruse the End Times Prophecy that is perhaps the largest section in so many “Christian” Book Stores, you will see the coming apocalypse, and as we have researched in this series, it’s only because of our complete failure to see what really occurred on the First Good Friday.
This will be our shortest point as it really is a review of what we have talked about in the previous as we by now we should know that weekend in Jerusalem, on that Holy Week leading up to that first Good Friday was all out War!
We looked at the undeniable signs that were in many ways supernatural and as such full proof that this was the COSMIC CRASH between PURE GOOD, and PURE EVIL (all of us not just Satan) and the Battle was to the Death just as Christ told us in Eden’s Garden when HE Said, I will Crush the Serpent, But I will Die In The Process.
Genesis 3:15 (DBY) And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; he shall crush thy head, and thou shalt crush HIS heel.
As today a Serpents bite was then, and can still be nonsurvivable, and as such Jesus really had to die on Good Friday at our Hand, and though on Paper we see Good Friday as Satan’s greatest moment, it was actually and I believe He knew it.
You see I think all the way up until Jesus said John 19:30 Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, "It is finished!" And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.
There was all the way up until Jesus actually finished HIS work and really Died, that there still was on the Evil side a chance of victory, but upon Jesus true death, did Satan actually see it was over and He was indeed Crushed by the SEED of the Woman, this is visually portrayed almost perfectly in the excellent movie “The Passion Of The Christ”.
We could go on, but I really want to get to the Third observation,
3) Total Victory, Needed Total Price Paid, Total Purchase of our Souls, Total Cleansing Of Our Sins;
When I go to the Nursing Homes on my Visitation, when I am asked to teach in a Church on Sunday Morning or explain the Gospel to co-workers when asked I like to start out by saying “we will stand before GOD and make a full accounting of our lives, and when the truck load of paper accounting for each sin pulls up the PROSECUTTER Starts to Read off our Name and then says;
“Here are the Charges, Well done my Good and Faithfull Servant, Enter my rest”
As we stand there Stunned, wondering about what just happened, our LORD Jesus Christ looks us in the Eyes, and says “Did I pay for some of your Sins or All of them? All of them LORD
Jesus then Asks, “Did I pay for some of your Soul, or All of it? And again we say All of them LORD.
Now you understand Good Friday and Easter better don’t you, as this total War had to be fought and the Victory secured.
If we really believe the Bible, and that NO one can stand before the FATHER with even one sin un paid for, then we need to see that Jesus indeed paid for all of our Soul Past Present and Future, and that HE really paid for ALL of our sins Past Present and Future, as HIS Blood and Atonement was perfect and Spotless, as it only could be, and provided TOTAL Victory as it only could.
You see the predominant Teaching of the Church & Synagogue that guilt’s you into the seat each week falsely portrays us as able to choose of our own.
I want you to really gasp this, and as such I ask, HOLY SPIRIT, In Jesus name by the will of our FATHER in Heaven, please make this point very clear.
I want you to think of the last viewing you went to, and I want you to honestly ask yourself, Did you expect the deceased to rise from the Casket, and enter into the conversation?
Did you think that that the deceased would be able to help you choose in a matter?
Of course not, and yet the Bible tells us John 5:24 "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.
24 "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.
25 "Truly, truly, I say to you, an hour is coming and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.
Ephesians 2:1 ? And you were dead in your trespasses and sins,
2:5 even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),
Colossians 2:13 ? When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions,
And NO this not just a New Testament understanding;
Psalm 51:1 ? <<For the choir director. A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came to him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba.>> Be gracious to me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness; According to the greatness of Your compassion blot out my transgressions.
2 Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity And cleanse me from my sin.
3 For I know my transgressions, And my sin is ever before me.
4 Against You, You only, I have sinned And done what is evil in Your sight, So that You are justified when You speak And blameless when You judge.
5 Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, And in sin my mother conceived me.
6 Behold, You desire truth in the innermost being, And in the hidden part You will make me know wisdom.
7 ? Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
Isaiah 53:4 ? Surely our griefs He Himself bore, And our sorrows He carried; Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken, Smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, And by His scourging we are healed.
6 All of us like sheep have gone astray, Each of us has turned to his own way; But the LORD has caused the iniquity of us all To fall on Him.
7 He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He did not open His mouth; Like a lamb that is led to slaughter, And like a sheep that is silent before its shearers, So He did not open His mouth.
So let us get this straight, Easter Sunday HAD TO PROVIDE IN JESUS CHRIST Full Purchase, Total Victory, Needed Total Price Paid, Total Purchase of our Souls, Total Cleansing Of Our Sins;
And only Jesus could. and Did!
Good Friday’s Earthquake, Blackened Sun, Rising Souls, Torn Temple Curtain, and Easter’s Earthquake and Angels guarding the KINGS Empty Tomb, have us ask the very point this lesson was asking,
As We Await Armageddon To Come, Exactly What Signs Are You Waiting For, As Perhaps It Really Is Mostly In The Rear View Mirror.
Again our Next Series, we be a 3 to 4 Part Series “Is The Church Killing Christianity?”
New Testament Lesson
Revelation 16
1 ? Then I heard a loud voice from the temple, saying to the seven angels, "Go and pour out on the earth the seven bowls of the wrath of God."
2 So the first angel went and poured out his bowl on the earth; and it became a loathsome and malignant sore on the people who had the mark of the beast and who worshiped his image.
3 The second angel poured out his bowl into the sea, and it became blood like that of a dead man; and every living thing in the sea died.
4 Then the third angel poured out his bowl into the rivers and the springs of waters; and they became blood.
5 And I heard the angel of the waters saying, "Righteous are You, who are and who were, O Holy One, because You judged these things;
6 for they poured out the blood of saints and prophets, and You have given them blood to drink. They deserve it."
7 And I heard the altar saying, "Yes, O Lord God, the Almighty, true and righteous are Your judgments."
8 ? The fourth angel poured out his bowl upon the sun, and it was given to it to scorch men with fire.
9 Men were scorched with fierce heat; and they blasphemed the name of God who has the power over these plagues, and they did not repent so as to give Him glory.
10 Then the fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and his kingdom became darkened; and they gnawed their tongues because of pain,
11 and they blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores; and they did not repent of their deeds.
12 ? The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river, the Euphrates; and its water was dried up, so that the way would be prepared for the kings from the east.
13 And I saw coming out of the mouth of the dragon and out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet, three unclean spirits like frogs;
14 for they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the whole world, to gather them together for the war of the great day of God, the Almighty.
15 ("Behold, I am coming like a thief. Blessed is the one who stays awake and keeps his clothes, so that he will not walk about naked and men will not see his shame.")
16 And they gathered them together to the place which in Hebrew is called Har-Magedon.
17 ? Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl upon the air, and a loud voice came out of the temple from the throne, saying, "It is done."
18 And there were flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder; and there was a great earthquake, such as there had not been since man came to be upon the earth, so great an earthquake was it, and so mighty.
19 The great city was split into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. Babylon the great was remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of His fierce wrath.
20 And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.
21 And huge hailstones, about one hundred pounds each, *came down from heaven upon men; and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail, because its plague *was extremely severe.

This Is The WORD Of The LORD
Response By All: Thanks Be To GOD
Old Testament Lesson
Ho 1:1 ? The word of the LORD which came to Hosea the son of Beeri, during the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and during the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel.
2 ? When the LORD first spoke through Hosea, the LORD said to Hosea, "Go, take to yourself a wife of harlotry and have children of harlotry; for the land commits flagrant harlotry, forsaking the LORD."
3 So he went and took Gomer the daughter of Diblaim, and she conceived and bore him a son.
4 And the LORD said to him, "Name him Jezreel; for yet a little while, and I will punish the house of Jehu for the bloodshed of Jezreel, and I will put an end to the kingdom of the house of Israel.
5 "On that day I will break the bow of Israel in the valley of Jezreel."
6 Then she conceived again and gave birth to a daughter. And the LORD said to him, "Name her Lo-ruhamah, for I will no longer have compassion on the house of Israel, that I would ever forgive them.
7 "But I will have compassion on the house of Judah and deliver them by the LORD their God, and will not deliver them by bow, sword, battle, horses or horsemen."
8 ? When she had weaned Lo-ruhamah, she conceived and gave birth to a son.
9 And the LORD said, "Name him Lo-ammi, for you are not My people and I am not your God."
10 Yet the number of the sons of Israel Will be like the sand of the sea, Which cannot be measured or numbered; And in the place Where it is said to them, "You are not My people," It will be said to them, "You are the sons of the living God."
11 And the sons of Judah and the sons of Israel will be gathered together, And they will appoint for themselves one leader, And they will go up from the land, For great will be the day of Jezreel.
(NAS95)
Daniel 9
1 ? In the first year of Darius the son of Ahasuerus, of Median descent, who was made king over the kingdom of the Chaldeans--
2 in the first year of his reign, I, Daniel, observed in the books the number of the years which was revealed as the word of the LORD to Jeremiah the prophet for the completion of the desolations of Jerusalem, namely, seventy years.
3 So I gave my attention to the Lord God to seek Him by prayer and supplications, with fasting, sackcloth and ashes.
4 ? I prayed to the LORD my God and confessed and said, "Alas, O Lord, the great and awesome God, who keeps His covenant and lovingkindness for those who love Him and keep His commandments,
5 we have sinned, committed iniquity, acted wickedly and rebelled, even turning aside from Your commandments and ordinances.
6 "Moreover, we have not listened to Your servants the prophets, who spoke in Your name to our kings, our princes, our fathers and all the people of the land.
7 "Righteousness belongs to You, O Lord, but to us open shame, as it is this day--to the men of Judah, the inhabitants of Jerusalem and all Israel, those who are nearby and those who are far away in all the countries to which You have driven them, because of their unfaithful deeds which they have committed against You.
8 "Open shame belongs to us, O Lord, to our kings, our princes and our fathers, because we have sinned against You.
9 "To the Lord our God belong compassion and forgiveness, for we have rebelled against Him;
10 nor have we obeyed the voice of the LORD our God, to walk in His teachings which He set before us through His servants the prophets.
11 "Indeed all Israel has transgressed Your law and turned aside, not obeying Your voice; so the curse has been poured out on us, along with the oath which is written in the law of Moses the servant of God, for we have sinned against Him.
12 "Thus He has confirmed His words which He had spoken against us and against our rulers who ruled us, to bring on us great calamity; for under the whole heaven there has not been done anything like what was done to Jerusalem.
13 "As it is written in the law of Moses, all this calamity has come on us; yet we have not sought the favor of the LORD our God by turning from our iniquity and giving attention to Your truth.
14 "Therefore the LORD has kept the calamity in store and brought it on us; for the LORD our God is righteous with respect to all His deeds which He has done, but we have not obeyed His voice.
15 "And now, O Lord our God, who have brought Your people out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand and have made a name for Yourself, as it is this day--we have sinned, we have been wicked.
16 "O Lord, in accordance with all Your righteous acts, let now Your anger and Your wrath turn away from Your city Jerusalem, Your holy mountain; for because of our sins and the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and Your people have become a reproach to all those around us.
17 "So now, our God, listen to the prayer of Your servant and to his supplications, and for Your sake, O Lord, let Your face shine on Your desolate sanctuary.
18 "O my God, incline Your ear and hear! Open Your eyes and see our desolations and the city which is called by Your name; for we are not presenting our supplications before You on account of any merits of our own, but on account of Your great compassion.
19 "O Lord, hear! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, listen and take action! For Your own sake, O my God, do not delay, because Your city and Your people are called by Your name."
20 ? Now while I was speaking and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the LORD my God in behalf of the holy mountain of my God,
21 while I was still speaking in prayer, then the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision previously, came to me in my extreme weariness about the time of the evening offering.
22 He gave me instruction and talked with me and said, "O Daniel, I have now come forth to give you insight with understanding.
23 "At the beginning of your supplications the command was issued, and I have come to tell you, for you are highly esteemed; so give heed to the message and gain understanding of the vision.
24 "Seventy weeks have been decreed for your people and your holy city, to finish the transgression, to make an end of sin, to make atonement for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy place.
25 "So you are to know and discern that from the issuing of a decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until Messiah the Prince there will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; it will be built again, with plaza and moat, even in times of distress.
26 "Then after the sixty-two weeks the Messiah will be cut off and have nothing, and the people of the prince who is to come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. And its end will come with a flood; even to the end there will be war; desolations are determined.
27 "And he will make a firm covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolate, even until a complete destruction, one that is decreed, is poured out on the one who makes desolate."
(NAS95)
This Is The WORD Of The LORD
Response By All: Thanks Be To GOD
Genesis 18:1 ? Now the LORD appeared to him by the oaks of Mamre, while he was sitting at the tent door in the heat of the day.
2 When he lifted up his eyes and looked, behold, three men were standing opposite him; and when he saw them, he ran from the tent door to meet them and bowed himself to the earth,
3 and said, "My lord, if now I have found favor in your sight, please do not pass your servant by.
4 "Please let a little water be brought and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree;
5 and I will bring a piece of bread, that you may refresh yourselves; after that you may go on, since you have visited your servant." And they said, "So do, as you have said."
6 So Abraham hurried into the tent to Sarah, and said, "Quickly, prepare three measures of fine flour, knead it and make bread cakes."
7 Abraham also ran to the herd, and took a tender and choice calf and gave it to the servant, and he hurried to prepare it.
8 He took curds and milk and the calf which he had prepared, and placed it before them; and he was standing by them under the tree as they ate.
9 ? Then they said to him, "Where is Sarah your wife?" And he said, "There, in the tent."
10 He said, "I will surely return to you at this time next year; and behold, Sarah your wife will have a son." And Sarah was listening at the tent door, which was behind him.
11 Now Abraham and Sarah were old, advanced in age; Sarah was past childbearing.
12 Sarah laughed to herself, saying, "After I have become old, shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?"
13 And the LORD said to Abraham, "Why did Sarah laugh, saying, 'Shall I indeed bear a child, when I am so old?'
14 "Is anything too difficult for the LORD? At the appointed time I will return to you, at this time next year, and Sarah will have a son."
15 Sarah denied it however, saying, "I did not laugh"; for she was afraid. And He said, "No, but you did laugh."
16 ? Then the men rose up from there, and looked down toward Sodom; and Abraham was walking with them to send them off.
17 The LORD said, "Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do,
18 since Abraham will surely become a great and mighty nation, and in him all the nations of the earth will be blessed?
19 "For I have chosen him, so that he may command his children and his household after him to keep the way of the LORD by doing righteousness and justice, so that the LORD may bring upon Abraham what He has spoken about him."
20 And the LORD said, "The outcry of Sodom and Gomorrah is indeed great, and their sin is exceedingly grave.
21 "I will go down now, and see if they have done entirely according to its outcry, which has come to Me; and if not, I will know."
22 Then the men turned away from there and went toward Sodom, while Abraham was still standing before the LORD.
23 ? Abraham came near and said, "Will You indeed sweep away the righteous with the wicked?
24 "Suppose there are fifty righteous within the city; will You indeed sweep it away and not spare the place for the sake of the fifty righteous who are in it?
25 "Far be it from You to do such a thing, to slay the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous and the wicked are treated alike. Far be it from You! Shall not the Judge of all the earth deal justly?"
26 So the LORD said, "If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare the whole place on their account."
27 And Abraham replied, "Now behold, I have ventured to speak to the Lord, although I am but dust and ashes.
28 "Suppose the fifty righteous are lacking five, will You destroy the whole city because of five?" And He said, "I will not destroy it if I find forty-five there."
29 He spoke to Him yet again and said, "Suppose forty are found there?" And He said, "I will not do it on account of the forty."
30 Then he said, "Oh may the Lord not be angry, and I shall speak; suppose thirty are found there?" And He said, "I will not do it if I find thirty there."
31 And he said, "Now behold, I have ventured to speak to the Lord; suppose twenty are found there?" And He said, "I will not destroy it on account of the twenty."
32 Then he said, "Oh may the Lord not be angry, and I shall speak only this once; suppose ten are found there?" And He said, "I will not destroy it on account of the ten."
33 As soon as He had finished speaking to Abraham the LORD departed, and Abraham returned to his place.
Genesis 19:1 ? Now the two angels came to Sodom in the evening as Lot was sitting in the gate of Sodom. When Lot saw them, he rose to meet them and bowed down with his face to the ground.
2 And he said, "Now behold, my lords, please turn aside into your servant's house, and spend the night, and wash your feet; then you may rise early and go on your way." They said however, "No, but we shall spend the night in the square."
3 Yet he urged them strongly, so they turned aside to him and entered his house; and he prepared a feast for them, and baked unleavened bread, and they ate.
4 ? Before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, surrounded the house, both young and old, all the people from every quarter;
5 and they called to Lot and said to him, "Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may have relations with them."
6 But Lot went out to them at the doorway, and shut the door behind him,
7 and said, "Please, my brothers, do not act wickedly.
8 "Now behold, I have two daughters who have not had relations with man; please let me bring them out to you, and do to them whatever you like; only do nothing to these men, inasmuch as they have come under the shelter of my roof."
9 But they said, "Stand aside." Furthermore, they said, "This one came in as an alien, and already he is acting like a judge; now we will treat you worse than them." So they pressed hard against Lot and came near to break the door.
10 But the men reached out their hands and brought Lot into the house with them, and shut the door.
11 They struck the men who were at the doorway of the house with blindness, both small and great, so that they wearied themselves trying to find the doorway.
12 ? Then the two men said to Lot, "Whom else have you here? A son-in-law, and your sons, and your daughters, and whomever you have in the city, bring them out of the place;
13 for we are about to destroy this place, because their outcry has become so great before the LORD that the LORD has sent us to destroy it."
14 Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, who were to marry his daughters, and said, "Up, get out of this place, for the LORD will destroy the city." But he appeared to his sons-in-law to be jesting.
15 ? When morning dawned, the angels urged Lot, saying, "Up, take your wife and your two daughters who are here, or you will be swept away in the punishment of the city."
16 But he hesitated. So the men seized his hand and the hand of his wife and the hands of his two daughters, for the compassion of the LORD was upon him; and they brought him out, and put him outside the city.
17 When they had brought them outside, one said, "Escape for your life! Do not look behind you, and do not stay anywhere in the valley; escape to the mountains, or you will be swept away."
18 But Lot said to them, "Oh no, my lords!
19 "Now behold, your servant has found favor in your sight, and you have magnified your lovingkindness, which you have shown me by saving my life; but I cannot escape to the mountains, for the disaster will overtake me and I will die;
20 now behold, this town is near enough to flee to, and it is small. Please, let me escape there (is it not small?) that my life may be saved."
21 He said to him, "Behold, I grant you this request also, not to overthrow the town of which you have spoken.
22 "Hurry, escape there, for I cannot do anything until you arrive there." Therefore the name of the town was called Zoar.
23 The sun had risen over the earth when Lot came to Zoar.
24 ? Then the LORD rained on Sodom and Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven,
25 and He overthrew those cities, and all the valley, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground.
26 ? But his wife, from behind him, looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.
27 ? Now Abraham arose early in the morning and went to the place where he had stood before the LORD;
28 and he looked down toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the valley, and he saw, and behold, the smoke of the land ascended like the smoke of a furnace.
29 Thus it came about, when God destroyed the cities of the valley, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when He overthrew the cities in which Lot lived.
30 ? Lot went up from Zoar, and stayed in the mountains, and his two daughters with him; for he was afraid to stay in Zoar; and he stayed in a cave, he and his two daughters.
31 Then the firstborn said to the younger, "Our father is old, and there is not a man on earth to come in to us after the manner of the earth.
32 "Come, let us make our father drink wine, and let us lie with him that we may preserve our family through our father."
33 So they made their father drink wine that night, and the firstborn went in and lay with her father; and he did not know when she lay down or when she arose.
34 On the following day, the firstborn said to the younger, "Behold, I lay last night with my father; let us make him drink wine tonight also; then you go in and lie with him, that we may preserve our family through our father."
35 So they made their father drink wine that night also, and the younger arose and lay with him; and he did not know when she lay down or when she arose.
36 Thus both the daughters of Lot were with child by their father.
37 The firstborn bore a son, and called his name Moab; he is the father of the Moabites to this day.
38 As for the younger, she also bore a son, and called his name Ben-ammi; he is the father of the sons of Ammon to this day.
