STATEMENT

We have developed an online platform that competes all over the world. Schools and their owners are our focus; Dance Schools, Martial Arts, Yoga, and Music Schools are just some of the business models we oversee. Owners can get paid subscription fees for classes they teach, advertising they sell, and content they share with other schools. In addition, entry fees for tournaments, competitions, fundraisers, and charity events organized by schools and businesses will automatically show up in the owners' PayPal accounts. Finally, Virtual Competitions Online gets paid an annual fee by "student competitors" and clients enrolled in these schools/businesses.

19 Martial Arts Industry Statistics, Trends & Analysis

Sep 13, 2018Jun 3, 2018 by Brandon Gaille

The martial arts have a history which dates as far back as modern human civilization. As long as humans have been interested in aggression, there has been a need to defend oneself. Rudimentary martial arts were developed to satisfy this need.

Western interest in the traditions of martial arts developed in the 19th century, as trade routes made the world a smaller place. Media interest in the martial arts began in the 1970s and this exploded the growth of the industry. Movies from Asia and Hollywood began to incorporate martial arts elements into various storylines.

With the development of mixed martial arts (MMA) competitions, the martial arts industry is poised to see continued interest in the traditions established so long ago.

Important Marital Arts Industry Statistics

#1. About 3.6 million people actively participate in the martial arts industry in the United States each year. Participants under the age of 6 are not tracked for statistical purposes. (Statista)

#2. Marital arts studios are able to generate about $4 billion in revenues each year within the U.S. market. From 2012-2017, the industry was able to achieve an annualized rate of growth average of 4.2%. (IBIS World)

#3. Many martial arts studios are owned and operated by a single instructor. There are 75,000 firms operating within the U.S.-based industry today, employing just over 80,000 people. (IBIS World)

#4. There are more schools in the United States for martial arts than anywhere in the world. The United States has 16 times more schools than Australia, which comes in second for the global industry. (Martial Info)

#5. California (2,181), Florida (1,741), and New York (1,080) all have more martial arts studios accepting clients than Australia, with 1,035 locations. (Martial Info)

#6. 15% of consumers who work with a martial arts studio do so for personal training or small group training needs. Just 4% of studios in the United States that are marketed as a fitness location feature martial arts training. (Association of Fitness Studios)

#7. More than 18 million people in the United States tried karate at least once in the past 12 months. Adults are three times more likely to try karate classes compared to children. (Simmons Market Research)

#8. 28% of adults in the United States say that they participate in martial arts every chance they get to do so. At the same time, only 5% of adults in the U.S. say that they’ve participated at least once in a class within the past year. (Simmons Market Research)

#9. Men (52%) are slightly more likely than women (48%) to participate in martial arts. Gender statistics include children participating in their preferred martial art. (Simmons Market Research)

#10. 63% of adults that participate in formal martial arts instruction are within the ages of 18-34. For the 50+ age demographic, they compose 11% of the adult population engaged in martial arts instruction. (Simmons Market Research)

#11. 1 in 4 teens participated in a martial arts class within the past year. Boys are three percentage points more likely to have tried marital arts than girls in the past 12 months. (Simmons Market Research)

#12. Two out of three teens who participate in the martial arts say that sports are an important part of their social life. 77% of teens say that their participation in martial arts helps to keep them healthy. Those figures are 10% higher compared to teens who participate in sports other than a martial art. (Simmons Market Research)

#13. Access is an issue for martial arts instruction. 28% of children who participate in martial arts come from households earning at least $50,000 per year. In comparison, just 10% of children living in households earning less than $50,000 per year participate in martial arts. (Simmons Market Research)

#14. 13% of children under the age of 11 have participated in a martial arts activity within the past year. The gender difference in young children is much higher than it is for the industry as a whole. 61% of children under 11 who participate in martial arts are boys. (Simmons Market Research)

#15. 35% of people who are interested in the martial arts industry take mixed martial arts classes. This is followed by karate (22.2%), taekwondo (12.8%), and judo (10.2%). (IBIS World)

#16. 73% of people who practice martial arts or attend classes at a studio do so for physical fitness. That ranks martial arts as the third-most likely physical activity for children in the 6-12 age demographic to participate in this year. (IBIS World)

#17. Most martial arts studios are independently owned and operated. Over 90% of the studios have annual revenues less than 1% each year. (IBIS World)

#18. The largest martial arts studio franchise in the United States is Tiger-Rock Martial Arts. In 2015, the company had 158 franchisees operating throughout the United States. Even with their status as the largest franchise, their total market share for the industry as a whole in the U.S. is just 1.8%. (IBIS World)

#19. Although there are about 30,000 facilities which offer at least one martial arts program in the United States, just 8,500 studios are specifically for martial arts. (IBIS World)

Marital Arts Industry Trends and Analysis

The benefits of martial arts are many. It provides participants with improved mobility. It improves core strength and power. Many participants report improved flexibility, stability, and coordination. It provides stress relief and even lowers blood pressure levels.

As an industry, martial arts studios do have some challenges ahead which must be addressed. Many people like the idea of participating in martial arts. Actual attendance rates are nowhere near the percentage of people who say they’re interested in this industry. Just 1 out of every 5 people who express interest in martial arts will actually pursue that interest to a studio to attend at least one class.

With the increase of mixed martial arts competition and various other outlets of exposure for the traditions of this industry, demand levels will likely increase in the coming years. There will also be higher demand levels for martial arts equipment to use at home.

Different communities may see varied results because of unique geographical demands placed on the industry. As a whole, however, the industry looks to be on a healthy pace of growth that shows no signs of stopping.

Participants in gymnastics in the U.S. from 2006 to 2017

Published by S. Lock, Aug 9, 2019

The number of U.S. participants in gymnastics aged six years and older amounted to approximately 4.81 million in 2017, down from the previous year’s participation by around 10 percent. A participant is defined as an individual who took part in gymnastics at least once in the given year.

 Gymnastics in the U.S.

While participation has decreased, national interest in the sport is relatively high and estimated to keep increasing - in 2018, it was estimated that around 6.8 million Americans were very interested in gymnastics. Part of the rise in interest could be due to the variety and dedication required by gymnasts. The sport primarily includes exercises that require balance, flexibility, strength and control. These exercises can include vault, floor exercise, pommel horse, parallel bars, uneven bars, balance beam, high bar and still rings.

  Youth participation

Children in the U.S. have also shown an attraction to gymnastics. In 2017, 3.1 percent of 6 to 12-year-olds participated regularly in the sport, a figure which has grown over the past 3 years. There is also a clear interest in high school gymnastics in the U.S. with almost 19 thousand high school gymnastic participants in 2017/2018. The majority of this number is female

 EMOTION

Virtual Competitions New Platform is a humanitarian thrust forward to meet the world and its people where they live. Imagine if you would, the young man or woman that shows you in a video how they continually undermine records set by our best athletes. The world's reach we have always hoped for has been realized now with our Virtual Competitions Platform. Bringing competitors from all around the world to a platform that will show us all in a four-minute reality show who these competitors are and what they bring to the world just became much easier. There will no longer be a social problem of a forgotten child, man, or woman with a dream of being the best in the world at something they know in their heart and mind they are. Not having the ability to go beyond personal circumstances that rules our lives is to be paralyzed mentally as well as physically. Whether it’s because of poverty, sickness in the family, and a need to care for aging parents, or just the inability to travel. Virtual Competitions eliminate the drawbacks of circumstances and provide an opportunity for every person no matter where they live or what their conditions may be.

 Come See What We've Done.

I don't remember the exact year, but Team Paul Mitchell had Mike Chat, John Valera, Beca Ross, and some of the best competitors I have ever seen. Chat and his wife just had a baby, and I had just decided to start The Martial Arts Network or TMAN as it became known to millions of martial arts enthusiasts worldwide. Our network was on track to be a 24/7 cable television network. Our website, The Martial Arts Network, later to become Tman.com, was getting over a million hits a month, and people were looking at us. People like the head of operations, Andy Forssell of Time Warner came to our booth at Cable 97 in Anaheim, California. This started a weekly call from Andy to our offices at Universal Studios Florida, each week. Andy needed progress reports on network involvement. At that time, we were renting and buying up martial arts libraries. Our website was the talk of the martial arts community. All thanks to the masterful skills of our webmaster Dr. Ron Valli. Remember, this was 1996.

Enter Mike Sawyer; Mike is one of the most prominent martial arts tournament promoters in the United States. The U.S. Open. With his partners Mike McCoy and Cory Schafer, Mike Sawyer reached out. He invited my partner Tony Interdonato and me to his event he and his partners have every year in Orlando. I want to stop here for a moment. Guys, I am trying to keep this short. However, there is so much history here. I would like this story to be told to the martial arts community and to all school owners. I want us all to see what came from being invited to a tournament with people who care for our country's youth. That night I remember being invited to the penthouse after the tournament and speaking with Mike and some other leaders in the martial arts industry. I was blown away by what I just witnessed, and I remember telling them I did not understand why these kids were not in the Olympics. Later that night, I was speaking with Mike Sawyer, letting him know I was going to work toward getting these kids notoriety and possibly a payday for what they have accomplished. Well, this became my focus for the next thirty years right up to now.

Our Virtual Competitions Platform has given way to a much-needed small business experience for all school owners, not just martial arts but dance, gymnastics, music, any business that teaches and has the word school after their business model. I hope you will share this story. And if you get a chance, visit our platform to see what we have done. at virtual competitions with the s online dot com. https://virtualcompetitionsonline.com or purchase at our sales page here.

DEMO

As school and business owners, we have at one time or another thought about having the ability to do something online that could bring in extra income to our business. Well now with the launch of Virtual Connect also known as Virtual Competitions Online that dream has blossomed. Don't let the name Virtual Competitions Online hold you back because you can't think about how this can possibly be done. Besides, that's only one of the ways this platform gives you when it comes to making money. There are five others. I almost forgot, it also does all your social media marketing and finds you, new students every time you use it. This is a platform that provides peace of mind for school owners. The cost is $49.95 a one-time price. About the same price as a box of pencils. So take a look by going to Virtual Competitions with the s online dot com.

Influencers

Influencers have many followers for a lot of different reasons. An influencer is a person that can get you to buy a product or join a membership. Some of these reasons might be because they are an expert in their field or have name recognition; whatever the reason, companies and entrepreneurs pay a lot of money to influencers to drive traffic to their website and businesses. Using this definition of an influencer Virtual Competitions Online Platform has discovered that our influencers are built-in. As school owners, we all can guide our students to the training and activities we want them to have.

THE BIG THREE

You see, school owners then and now still need what I call the big three, cash flow, student acquisitions, and marketing. The Platform would address all of these needs.

First Of The Big Three “Cash Flow”

Cash Flow: the first of the big three. I knew I had to solve this by giving you more than just one way to make money.

First: Entry Fees are paid directly into your PayPal account by competitors for participating in events you create.

Second: Our rotating Banner Ads can be used to sell to businesses in your community that would like access to your client list.

Third: How about this, you can have an online training platform that can be used to extend your academy's reach to the world for a monthly fee.

Fourth: Here is a powerful one. If you have enough video teaching content and are well known in your industry, you can apply to the Virtual Competitions Platform to rent your content to other school owners to help them with their virtual classes.

Fifth: If you have opted to join one of our Bonus Programs, a check will be written once a year, in accordance with the price point platform you have purchased.

Student Acquisition: The Second Of The Big Three.

We solved this with a guaranteed solution to finding new clients each month. You will receive a report of all the friends of your students that voted for them. We know once your students have entered an event you have created, they will tell all the friends in their neighborhoods and in their school to vote for them. Grandparents in other countries will see their videos, and what's great they are all being brought back to your site.

Social Media Marketing: The Third Of The Big Three.

We solve this by giving you something so unique, a WOW factor, a must-see, and the ability to share with Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, 3D theaters. We plan to have Sony, Apple, Microsoft, LG, Google, and Amazon build our 3D theaters.

Our videos are shown in 3D theaters. Our plan is to get international companies like Sony, Apple, Microsoft, LG, Google, and Facebook to build these theaters for us, making our Virtual Competitions Platform the showcase of the internet.

Is Your School Ready For Virtual?

No! Well, we need to change that!

Bombshell Report.

School Owners Shocking New Revelation About Having A Virtual Ad On To Their Existing Business And Who Best To Provide The Service.

COVID-19 has hurt us all bad. I'm a small business owner like you, and I created this for us. Even though my Platform was designed for Martial Arts school owners, we found it to work for any business with the word SCHOOL behind it. So please, if you know another person that can use our help, let them know. We can and do help Music, Yoga, Martial Arts, Dance, Gymnastics Schools, etc.

Here is something to remember. This Platform is NOT a replacement for a school's website. It is a platform you add to your business when you need a little extra cash. It will make you more money, help you find more leads, and do all your social media marketing.

Our Platform will create new excitement, for your students, family, and friends as it increases your income by having students pay an entry fee to your PayPal account for participation in the events you create. Events like Competitions, Tournaments, Fundraisers, Charity Events. Do Challenges for Organizations and Schools that compete in the things you do.

Create an event with up to four categories of competitions and challenges in a month of your choosing. Run the competition for your school or invite other schools and businesses to join your event by sending emails, posting to Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

We help you build your business by finding new clients each month, by providing you reports of friends that voted for your student.

Judging Events

Judging events on our Platform happens by three methods of voting. Accumulated Star Votes and Views: Registered Visitors may view videos and award up to five-star votes per video. If an unregistered visitor views a video, the video will receive only a one-star vote. example, 20 views = 20 stars.

Our second voting method is where Business Owners looking to find the best overall competitors may designate in their judges. These judges will receive a unique login code that, when used, will provide the software with the ability to find the best competitors.

Our third way is a combination of both Accumulated Star Voting and Actual judges. Thank you for listening.

Train Anywhere

Do you know a Dance, or Martial Arts school somewhere in the country? You have always said to yourself that if I ever had the opportunity to go there and train, my life would be different? Well, that question can be asked and answered by all of us for every sport and skill known to humankind; Martial Arts, Yoga, Gymnastics, Music, Dance, and so many more. Today, at this very moment, you can pick up a phone and call that special once-in-a-lifetime coach or instructor and tell them you would like to be their student. All the school needs to do is join the Virtual Competitions New Online Platform for a one-time promotional fee of $49.95. Once that's done the school will have you and maybe some of your friends as new students.

For schools that receive this request from admiring would-be students, you will have all the tools any school could need to run a healthy, thriving online business.

What Kind Of Events Can I Have?

For instance, You will be able to run competitions, tournaments, contests, fundraisers, charity events for yourself, or invite other businesses that do what you do to join your events. Sell Advertising right on your platform. Provide online training for students and clients all over the globe using our built-in monthly subscriptions engine. Suppose you are a school owner or a personal trainer with instructional videos or DVDs, and you would like to offer your content to others to help them with their virtual classes for a monthly subscription. In that case, we are already capable of doing that. We have our own Zoom-like platforms called "Excalibur VCO" and "Excalibur Stream" that rivals what zoom is presently offering, and this is at your disposal. Want to run a live event right from your platform? You can.

Who Is Our Platform For?

Our Platform is not for only one business model; it's for all of them. You can say we are the small business superstore of the internet. You can even stop in if you wish and pick up your virtual business today.

Theaters

I would like to speak to you about our theaters, why we have them and what our plans will be for them. Some of the comments we get are about our 3D theaters and how I came up with that.

I have given much thought to this and must say my answer remains the same. Everyone loves theaters. Some even dream of the day they will be seen in a theater. Our Platform brings us to all kinds of businesses and people whose focus is on children. Schools, Gyms, Instructors, Coaches, and Teachers.

Therefore, it is my feeling that children are the magic of our Platform, and magic happens on stage. Today with social media, it would only seem the next logical step to create a must-see event for the world would be to put everyone on stage. We plan to get international companies like Sony, Apple, Microsoft, LG, Google, and Facebook to build these theaters for us, making our Virtual Competitions Platform the showcase of the internet. Our patrons will choose branded company theaters for different reasons. Avatars spokespersons will inform viewers of theater specials. Companies and builders of these theaters will have found new ways to market their products. Programmers and technical engineers will build striking new 3D theaters, each better than the next, as they find new ways of interacting with our clients. We add excitement and business strategy in our theaters by providing random pop-up prize-winning fun events across the whole Platform in all business models. If a student or one of their friends is the lucky one watching the video at the time of the pop-up, that friend will win a prize. To collect their prize, they will have to pick it up at the owners' place of business; this way, the owner will have a chance to recruit them into the school. For friends who don't live close to the owners' school, they will receive a choice of a digital download of a manual or e-book, something created by the school owner, or they can be allowed to give their friend extra votes to help them win the contest.

All Business Models

Our Platform is not for only one business model; it's for all of them. You can say we are the small business superstore of the internet. You can even stop in if you wish and pick up your virtual business today. More about that later. For now, I would like to speak to you about our theaters, why we have them and what our plans will be for them. Some of the comments we get are about our 3D theaters and how I came up with that. Future

Want more? So do we; that is why we will never stop developing. Now for the best part, your school's Social Media and how our platform drives it all on automatic. You will receive monthly reports of students and clients that have voted for your students, along with phone numbers, zip codes. The videos they compete with will travel the world to bring all kinds of people back to you and your platform. You will set up with your logo, photos, video, text, and your special story for the world to review.
