Thrill: Gassed Up
"A group of London teenage boys turn to motorbike crime for survival in George Amponsah’s high-octane new film" What LFF says "When Ash joins Dubz’s gang it’s for good reasons – to help look after his younger sister and get his mum into rehab. But what starts out as a few stolen phones quickly spirals out of control with a robbery gone wrong, and Ash finds that the world of crime is a lot harder to leave than it was to enter. Amponsah’s slick, fast-paced filmmaking will keep you on the edge of your seat." ?

Journey: Shayda
"An Iranian woman in Australia attempts to cut her abusive husband out of her life and retain custody of their daughter, in Noora Niasari’s compelling drama." What LFF says "Persian New Year is approaching. Shayda is trying to make it special for her daughter Mona, but it’s not easy – they are living in a women’s refuge, having fled Shayda’s abusive husband. Centring a powerful performance by Holy Spider’s Zar Amir Ebrahimi, Shayda is a moving drama about the sacrifices a mother will make for her daughter."

Laugh: The Nature of Love
"Can love resist social pressures and the rest of the world? This smart and jubilant comedy reveals all." What LFF says "Sophie is a 40-year-old philosophy professor in a stable, but passionless, relationship. When her path crosses with Sylvain, the hunky builder renovating her chalet, she embarks on an all-consuming affair. French-Canadian director Monia Chokri brings all her sass and wits to bear on this shrewd portrait of a generation of women interrogating desire, fidelity and social norms."
