Securityplus FCU Mentors GWUCUI Start up Credit Union Leaders

Securityplus FCU leadership is formally acting as the mentor credit union to the Students of George Washington University who are expecting to open their credit unions doors within three months. Bill Kennedy, CFO of Securityplus and current Board Member /Advisory for the initiative, and Sahil Pankhaniya, student CEO and main driver of initiating the Chartering process well over one year ago, took a minute for a picture. Ten students from GWUCUI and eight leaders of Securityplus recently spent the day meeting to discuss strategy and plan for the immediate future of the new credit union. Recently CUNA, thru Sterling Nowka and Tom Sakash, extended an invite to two of the leaders of the GWUCUI, Colin Brodie and Christian Trummer, to attend the Small Credit Union Round-table at GAC. At that meeting they were able to personally meet NCUA Chairman Rodney Hood, and two other NCUA leaders, Martha Ninichuk and Larry Fazio. Chairman Hood publicly announced his desire to personally deliver their Charter! They were also able to meet the new incoming Georgetown Student Credit Union leadership. The Securityplus Leadership team was thrilled to be able to provide mentorship and wisdom during the day and we were excited and inspired by these young leaders who are under no illusion as to the monumental task ahead of them.
