Security vs Freedom.

What a Full Moon tonight! She is in her 'home' in Cancer; powerfully able to shine a light on all our nurturing and security needs. Cancer is what the Moon is symbolically all about - emotional, sensitive, tender and vulnerable. These things are highlighted. Yet so is quite the opposite.
This Full Moon is part of a Grand Cross in the sky with the earth in the middle: the Sun and Moon oppose each other, and 90 degrees to them, the Jupiter-Uranus opposition. I've posted a picture of the chart so you can see the 'big square'. A Grand cross denotes great tension, and coupled with a lunation (Full Moon) it's one big trigger. So...very tense and quite catalytic!
Jupiter (expansion, release, law, religion, foreign countries, seeking Truth and wisdom) sits at the exact same cardinal degrees as the Sun and Moon. Jupiter symbolically exacerbates all it touches. So while it opposes Uranus and ramps up a drive for freedom and independence, sudden events and changing the status quo, it also ramps up our needs for security as the Moon in Cancer and the Sun in Capricorn are both concerned with safety and security.
The two oppositions are running at cross purposes.
We may want one while experiencing the other, it's security vs freedom. At best we may feel uneasy if these planets at 20-22 degrees sit on anything in your chart; at worst things may be unpredictable, sudden and chaotic.
Maintaining a sense of balance while understanding humanity is going through great changes is key. Non-resistance is key. As I type, the news is talking about national security; world events may take a turn as we get closer to a new US president taking office.
Saturn, also at 22 degrees gives us a reminder to be practical and organised, responsible and focused: what do we really want to expand into (Saturn in Sagittarius)? how do we commit to be disciplined enough to achieve it?
Within 10 hours of the exact Full Moon (10.03 pm ACST), Venus will pass across the face of Neptune which can talk of dreamily idealising situations that may see us knocked around if we are not taking responsibility for what is happening in our lives. And it can talk of great intuitive open-heartedness too.
It's a powerful Full Moon. If you can, go out and behold her tonight; she'll be magnificent!
