Security - Cyber and Physical and Operational in the 'new normal'

Covid10 and metropolitan riots in 30+ major cities in the US are triggers and precursors to what may be the 'new normal' and what may be 'yet to come'.

The art of security is in how it helps to overcome challenges to businesses and organisations not only in present terms and conditions nut also in the near tem and midterm future.

Covid19 has raised a lot of fear alongside the infection rate and rising death rate.

Rioting has not only shutdown ordinary nightlife in cities but also long term damage and destruction to physical infrastructure and operating environment to normal business flow and social traffic in city centers via curfews and operating restrictions on life.

Together, they have had an extraordinary impact on work. life, and working life.

What may be worse, what about the next time? What if the next time, it's SARS level of fatality and higher levels of urban conflict?

To look at the future, to plan 3 or 4 moves ahead of such a 'next time' operations risk and planning must or should ( two really pathetic words in any langwige ;) or in thinking ) encompass or entertain:

1) Dispersion and de-centralisation of operations and continuity of operations vis-a-vis production and revenue protection and revenue growth.

This includes work from home/telecommuting and teleoperations, time shift and bench depth in employee in working teams and work capability.

2) Fractal networks and systems for operational (OT) and informational (IT) technology systems and operational systems. (CRYSTAL TERRACE ICS3 segmentation, etc...)

3) Redundant 'shock absorber' systems - signals the end of "just-in-time" and kanban factory systems as well as other accepted business practices. :-0 ;)
