SECURITY COUNCIL EMPTY?

Dear All I wish to comment on this, the present situation and position of the United Nations Security Council, much have been said.

The Resolution on Gaza on March 2024 has shown clearly that the effect of that resolution has not had any enforcement or abiding for the interest parties, it had taken so long for a Resolution to be approved by the council. I believe that, that day mark the beginning of a urgent need to either change or begin to extinguish.

For any one, if a resolution is not taken into account, it is shameful not only or those that emitted, but for those that do not abide by it. The UN Chart is not respected.

Is the Security Council Empty? Well it seems it is in the sense that it has no real strength or force, to really accomplished its objective of existence, is to stop war and any probability of conflicts.

The Council seats the powers that are, the 5 that can veto, so is useless to try to elaborate a Resolution that you know will go against them, because it will be vetoed. Because of this the The Council is not objective or neutral, the powers are holding power of the Council.

Cost

The Security Council cost much, you have the permanent representants of the council and then the temporary members, all of these persons among other things to be at the security council.

All the machinery of the Security Council entails a cost, is not only seating in the meeting, the cost of all related matters for the functioning of the Security Council.

Now when the peace keeping forces of the UN are commanded and send into mission the cost is around 63 billion dollars. (data of 2021).

Do the peacekeeping UN forces are able to bring peace?

Or they are merely neutral observers, with no force.?

So I think is long time overdue either a change or a new Council Structure that really will be neutral, but the powers that are don't want that for sure.

Has the Council started to become a fossil?

Why is no one talking about reshaping it NOW really, or they are all just happy with the outcome?

I think that the Resolution of Gaza was the beginning of a clear image that the Council needs to change now, or else it will just might really become a parody, since there is no force in their decisions.
