Businesses in the digital era are turning tech-centric and the adoption of cutting-edge technologies is not just the need of the hour but the demand of the future as well. But, cybercriminals are always a serious threat to companies willing to extend their market outreach using an IoT-based system. By intercepting their communication loops, the virtual perpetrators want to plunder their digital assets, most importantly the data. Despite threats and challenges, companies cannot resist adopting technologies; the most feasible option for them is to find the blind spots and outsmart them with effective security solutions.????
The CIO of an organization must have the eagle vision to recognise and monitor security blind spots while leading the company’s cloud journey. That’s why an experienced CIO would persuade the company’s leadership to adopt network security based on a zero-trust approach and encourage teams to develop a system of shared responsibility rather than a culture of command and control. This kind of receptive approach allows the company to keep pace with its ever-changing security goals. But, this task doesn’t end here as technology remains idle without human intervention. So, up-skilling & re-skilling the human resources for the optimal utilization of the organisation’s tech capacity is as imperative to a CIO as incorporating the most effective technologies. Besides, s/he can also hire professionals with great expertise in the cloud security domain.
Work overload on cloud engineers and security professionals is one of the prime reasons for security lapses in corporate. Thereby, to reduce vulnerability, CIOs must ensure a multi-layered security mechanism comprising advanced tools and software. Apart from this, to keep the security personnel attentive and motivated, work-life balance is mandatory and they should also be privileged with a host of employee benefits.
Hackers and cybercriminals always believe that every cloud has a silver lining for them. Extensive penetration of cloud-based networking exposes companies to new business risks and makes them more vulnerable to threats and data breaches. Thence, for agile and safe networking, the CIO of the organization must also develop a security infrastructure before entering into a cloud interface. Moreover, with every update in the cloud, the security should also be improved accordingly. Like technology, security should also be adaptable to the current as well as future needs of the business and a CIO must have the vision to anticipate the transition. That’s why s/he must choose a scalable infrastructure to get the system modified as per the changing needs.???
