On?June 21st, 2023, Apple released?10?updates?to patch a total of?3?unique?security?vulnerabilities, at least one of them known to be?actively exploited?in the wild.

In a nutshell, only?iPhones,?iPads,?Macs and Apple Watches?are concerned with security flaws.

The good news is that devices stuck at iOS/iPadOS 15 (iPhone 6S, iPhone 7, iPad Mini 4, iPad Air 2 & iPod touch 7) as well as watchOS 8 (Series 3) have received a security update too.

On the Mac side,?macOS Big Sur, Monterey and Ventura?have received a full operating system update alongside a Safari update.

As usual, for those concerned, please manually trigger a backup before doing the update:

For iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch

  • via iCloud: Settings > Apple ID > iCloud > iCloud Backup > Back Up Now
  • and/or locally?on a Mac?or?a Windows PC

For Macs via Time Machine

  • If needed, plug your Time Machine drive back in and/or the charging cable (for MacBooks only)
  • Click on the Time Machine icon in the top right corner then click on "Back Up Now"
  • To add that icon to the menu bar, open "System Preferences", then visit "Time Machine" and tick the box that says "Show Time Machine in the menu bar"

Since these updates can take between 20 to 40 minutes, it's best to do them in the evening or when you're not in a hurry.
