Securing our Future - Innovation and the economy

As an advocate of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) I recently enjoyed meeting with Josh Frydenberg, The Treasurer of Australia and Deputy Leader of the Liberal Party. He has a keen interest in his portfolio and ensuring Australia's economy is strong. Josh openly discussed the challenges ahead and I shared my views on the business sector throughout Asia Pacific Japan with a focus on business and digital innovation. He recently announced in the Federal Budget the plan to create 1.25 million more jobs over the next five years and we discussed the positive impact of the technology sector, biohealth sector and the creation of 'new collar' jobs to underpin growth in the economy. It is critical for Australia that we innovate and embrace the digital era and utilise technology to drive excellence.
