Secure your Salesforce environment or suffer the consequences!

What is Salesforce? It is the 1st Software as a Services (SaaS) Customer Relationship Manager (CRM) and currently the leader with the most market share. So what is SaaS?  It is a way of delivering centrally hosted applications over the Internet—as a service. SaaS applications are sometimes called web-based software, on-demand software, or hosted software. What type of data does a CRM contain? Customer and prospect contact information, accounts, leads, and sales opportunities in one central location. Since Salesforce stores client personal data it naturally becomes a target hackers. These hackers want your data and they will stop at nothing to get it your precious information or will they?

Will a hacker think twice about hacking your Salesforce environment? I know for sure if you are only using usernames and passwords you are within their scope because you are an easy target. Sly Gittens

Using Multi-factor/2 Factor/Second Factor (These are a few alternative names that me the same thing) is a BEST practice. I am not naive to think that once you have multi-factor within your environment you can never be hacked. I am saying we need to have multi-factor as a bare minimum. Think of it as being an extra lock on your front door that you can leverage multiple ways of entering.

Watch me secure Salesforce with RSA mobile multifactor authentication solution.

Without Multi-factor if you or your client password was phished, or if your password is stolen by shoulder surfing a hacker will have access to your company's client data. How much damage can be done to you or your employee's compromised credentials? Let's say you house European personal data? Can your company survive the fine as a result of having your European data breached?  Are you aware of the GDPR fines? Before I go any further you do know about GDPR fines? You don't, well don't worry I got you cover watch my video on GDR. Is 22 million dollars a large fine for your organization? I know some companies would not flinch at paying $22 million fine but what if I told you it was 4% of your total revenue.

Since I have your attention, now do you understand that two multi-factor/2FA is essential for your organization. You need a solution that can secure your Salesforce, other SaaS applications (such as AWS), and your on-premise applications. You need a solution that not only provides Multi-Factor/2FA Authentication that solution needs to adapt to your user's behaviors.

That solution is RSA SecurID Access! RSA provides secure authentication for on-premise applications and cloud applications. Protecting your sales force with multifactor authentication has never been this convenient and secure. There are a lot of myths about RSA SecurID Access, watch my myth buster video to learn the truth.
