Secure your Solibri model

After spending time working in Solibri Model Checker, the model can be shared with any other users of Solibri Model Checker or Solibri Model Viewer. All they need is the .SMC file that you produce...

But - how do you make sure only the intended recipient has access to the file? Alternatively, how do you ensure out of data models are not in circulation? Fortunately, a built in feature caters for these scenarios.

Prior to sending any SMC model, it is always recommended to save a copy and strip out any resources you do not wish to be available to others.

To secure the file, go to File > Security Settings...

There are three part to the dialog:

1. Enable or Disable Security Settings of the SMC model. Once enabled, the Master Password is always required when using this dialog
2. Activate and set an Open Password which will be required by anyone who opens the model. Any model opened with this cannot be saved without the Master Password
3. Activate and set an Expiration Date. After the date has passed, the model can only be opened with the Master Password
