Secure Your Bag!

Secure Your Bag!

Webster's Dictionary definition of secure the bag is....nothing, it doesn't exist. But it should be in the running for phrase of the year and not just because I like saying it.

It's happening at all levels - it's just much more noticeable when the numbers are staggeringly high and the names are well known -

And now Rhianna has the bag, and then some:

She leveraged her talents, skills, work ethic and abilities into a massive, life-changing fortune. And not just her life; her impact and legacy will be massive and long-lasting, real secure.

And the same is true for Angela Bassett:

These are just two examples of extremely talented, extremely hard-working, extremely successful and deserving women that have had long lasting careers - true outliers in every sense of that word.

Oh, and one more - the South Park guys -

Very few reach those heights, but everyone has innate talents and abilities that can be developed and sharpened. The capabilities are in there and the resources are out there. And when there is a match, the chances of building a person up so they achieve greatness rises and compounds.

And money is not the only way to keep score here; how you treat yourself, your loved ones, your community, your world...that's the legacy and security that stays behind. Money is just a tool to get there, but it's not the final destination; what you do once you have some is the real test. Secure that bag...

And since education is so important, here are some great resources around financial education for you to take a look at.

I love what Baron Davis is doing for financial literacy, he's one of the best follows here:

Tim Ferris had Ramit Sethi who wrote I Will Teach you to be Rich, talks about how to set up our rich life, and now has his own podcast starting up.

Keep on learning, keep on growing, keep on teaching, and keep on securing the bag.
