Secure Today – Prepared for Tomorrow

Hello!?

Can you afford not to prioritise cyber security?

Cybercrime poses an increasing threat to companies and critical infrastructures. To counter this, new laws in accordance with the NIS-2 and RCE directives will come into force in Europe from October 2024. The EU is thus setting new standards for a uniformly high level of cyber security.

There are various approaches to improving cybersecurity around the world, such as the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, a guideline from the USA, or the SOCI Act, a law in Australia. This newsletter focuses on NIS-2 and how our solutions support companies that are subject to these national laws to strengthen their cybersecurity.

But be aware: regardless of whether these directives apply to you or not, make sure that your systems are cyber-secure so that your business operations can run smoothly!

WHAT DOES THE IMPLEMENTATION OF NIS-2 MEAN??

The NIS-2 directive aims to harmonise cyber security within the EU and must be transformed into national law by October. Companies to which it applies must take appropriate organisational, operational and technical measures to reduce the risks to network and information security. The aim is to minimise or prevent the impact of security incidents. This also applies to physical security and supply chain security.

Many companies will be directly affected. Please check immediately whether your company falls within the scope of application as soon as the relevant law comes into force in your country.

PHYSICAL AND CYBER SECURITY?

Security systems for physical security such as access control, perimeter protection and emergency systems protect critical infrastructures (e.g. energy suppliers), but as part of the IT landscape they are also often the target of cyber attacks. A cyber attack can cause considerable operational disruption and high costs.?
