AWARENESS TRUMPS ALL! Our #1 human-disturbance stems from the unawareness of living in a system"habitat" vs. how we function as a species of nature. Balancers are Creating (art), Healthy Dialogue and Adaptability.

Thanks Alex for a very good interview. Things I can add. Don't even think where the money/business comes from because even this taints the conversation quality. The value of human conversations can only be shabbily systematized when you make conversations adapt to a systemic need. If you want to sell or present, don't do podcasts!? Dan did a fabulous job expressing good dialogue into systemic how without selling anything, he offers his individual experience.? To experience our individual relevance in podcasts we must look at pods as a learning tool of ourselves with other humans. Both need to try to do the best dance that results in fulfillment by the time you end the episode. That you feel this was worth my time to have had this conversation. Conversations must be fulfilling, why else would we go through this effort if talking to each other was not fulfilling? Since only 1% of podcasters/viral videos make 99% of the revenue. ? #TheSmartofArt

Alex Sanfilippo There are some great tips in this article by Dan Cumberland about being a well-prepared podcast guest. While I am fairly new to appearing on podcasts, I am starting to be interviewed more regularly by hosts focused on leadership, entrepreneurship, and professional development. I agree with the article's emphasis on adequate preparation. Look forward to future articles on this topic.

One key take-away we have gathered on either side of the podcasting mic, is to vet for audience engagement. Rather than 'ballpark' or 'spitball' an audience based on speculation, and guessing, our first line of contact begins with this simple phrase: "What can you tell me about your audience?" As podcasters, we are in the communication business. If we are not communicating with these audiences daily, we are shooting paper airplanes and empty kisses, into the wind. In the most productive instances, your audience is those with whom you have developed 'first name' associations and connections. Move from 'selling an idea' to creating a relationship. Ditch the cold connection and move toward warming a long-term partnership. As a successful strategy, we have went fro seeking open-ended pitches to only booking guests who speak to the core themes suggested directly by our listening community. The listeners are defining the content they want, need, and desire that we create. In order to fully comprehend this data, on their terms, requires daily interaction and open, vulnerable feedback.
