The Secret to The Top 1% of Marketers
There are only three skills that an entrepreneur needs to learn..
And we believe that marketing is the engine that drives sales, and it’s the engine that drives products to actually get developed.
Otherwise, how would they get out there?
Now, of course, sales are very important and of course, developing the best product in the world is important as well. But marketing is what gets things started. It’s the engine, it’s the ignition. And if you can learn marketing, you can set yourself up to have a very abundant future because regardless of what business you go into, you’re going to have to learn the skill.
So there is a series of steps that you go through to become really good, and this is what we call the secret, the top 1% of makers. The secret is that you can’t hide marketing. So if you’re a beginner, and you’re starting out, you’re trying to figure this stuff out. This is some really good news for you! Because what really good marketers are good at… is researching the market.
It’s phase one of your journey, which we call the imitation phase. Now, imitation is a low level of creativity. It’s not a high level of creativity like innovation, which is phase three, but it gets you started, it gets you from being unconfident to get in the game and build in some competence. And this is what we recommend to our students, is that you grow over your plan and start from the start. Just start with being humble and being a beginner and going out there and researching the market and finding out what other people are doing and using that as inspiration.
I’m not saying copy, I’m not saying plagiarize. I’m saying, use what other people are doing as inspiration. So as an example, if you’re a marketer running ads for gyms. As an example, you could go to Facebook ad library, and you could literally research some gyms. On Google, search best gyms in Australia or best gyms in the US or whatever, and literally just choose some gyms, go to their Facebook pages, and see if they’re running some ads. So one of the biggest gym brands that run ads that I know of, F45. They run a lot of ads. You could literally go to an F45 Facebook ad library. Look at the ads that they’re running. You could copy that ad and paste it onto a Google doc and you could use that as your inspiration to then implement for the gym that you’re doing ads for.
Now one of the big things you can look out for in the Facebook ad library is how long they’ve been running ads for. So you can see the ads have been on for 20 days, maybe three months, maybe 60 days. If it’s been on for a long time, there’s a high chance it’s working. Otherwise, we don’t keep spending money on ads. Right? They would have turned off the ad. So you want to search for ads that have got some longevity. So this is the first stage of creativity, of building some competence in your skill set as a marketer. So, level one is the level of imitation. And that’s where you start.
Then you go to innovation. And innovation is where you’re looking at what people are doing and you’re doing it better. You’re trying to find an angle that breaks through the market. You’re trying to find something that doesn’t quite break through. That’s a big idea that makes you different from everyone else in the marketplace.

And then you’ve got the level of invention, which is like Elon Musk level. All these top entrepreneurs are inventing things. Invention is the top level of creativity. And the truth is you don’t need to be an inventor to make a lot of money. You could actually just stay on level one and make a lot of money and set yourself up for life and have a really, really good income.
So what I want you to take away from this is you don’t actually have to be that good to get started. You just have to have the courage to start and you just have to learn some simple research tools. This is a core fundamental starting point for a beginner. Give yourself permission to be a beginner and just start from the bottom and work your way up.
The secret to the top 1% of marketing is you cannot hide marketing and that provides an opportunity for you to look out there in the world, see what other people are doing, and kind of stand on the shoulders of giants and get some leverage from that to get you building some competence and confidence. And when you get that competence and confidence feedback loop coming into your psyche, you’re belief level starts going up. When your belief level starts going up, your potential goes up. When your potential goes up, your level of action goes up. And when your level of action goes up, you become more courageous in the actions that you’re taken and therefore you’re going to be ready to maybe start innovating and actually starting to build your own intellectual property, your own angles, your own ideas, and actually putting yourself out there in the marketplace and really standing out.
And honestly, guys, that is the way to go, because most people, what they do is they take what I’m saying the wrong way. The imitation part. And what they’ll do is they’ll try and copy a whole brand. Like they’ll try and copy the digital market skill as an example, and they’ll do a really terrible job at it. And then they look really bad to other people in the world that know what’s going on.
Don’t be that person.
What I’m saying is start as a beginner and model and imitate and get some traction and then work up to the level of innovation. You don’t even have to go up to the invention level. You can if you want, but you don’t have to, to make a lot of money.
So what I said, guys, let me quickly break this down. Do not reinvent the wheel. The secret to the top 1% of makers is that you can’t hide marketing and be completely okay with starting at the level of imitation and working your way up to the level of innovation. Because it’s going to make it a lot easier for you to make money online if you just start this way.
Big Love,
