A Secret Tool to Triple Your Content Reach
How do I post my content on so many platforms?
Do I have a team that does it for me?
I wish! ??? But I don't. ?
I do have a software tool combined with an aligned content strategy, which allows me to write once and publish simultaneously on multiple platforms with the press of a button.
This maximizes the reach of my content and helps draw traffic to my blog, podcast, and social media channels. It also saves me time while generating audience growth momentum and other benefits associated with a multiplatform content strategy.
You can set this up for yourself, too, and I'll share how in this post.
The Secret: Metricool
The main features I use are:
Social Media Management, which includes pre-scheduling and auto-publishing posts across multiple social media platforms from a single user interface.
AI Content Writing, which enables you to create or improve drafts and shorten content to fit different platform formats (e.g., condensing an Instagram post to an X App tweet).
Analytics and Reporting, which provides detailed analytics on social media performance, including metrics such as engagement rates, follower growth, and reach, on one dashboard.
Other features include hashtag tracking, competitor analysis, and ad manager features, but the above three tools are the main ones I've explored so far.
In writing this post, I also realized how powerful the competitor analysis tool was. It can track up to 100 competitors per platform (including their top-performing posts). This excludes YouTube, for which you can track up to 10. But together, this is a lot, and it's one feature I'll want to leverage soon.
A Wide Array of Platforms to Maximize Your Reach
The platforms I've connected to Metricool so far are:
My podcast page and YouTube channel are also connected, but for analytics purposes only because my podcast episodes are hosted and published via BuzzSprout and PodcastPage.io .
I find this great because I can write content once and distribute it to all these places without leaving the site. With Metricool, you can even tailor the posts so each one is somewhat adapted to the norms or requirements of each platform. I only do that as much as required, though, as the point of my strategy is to maximize reach with minimal effort. That brings us to part three of this post, which covers that.
The Key to Making This Work: Knowing the Difference Between Posting Versus Growing Everywhere
When I first started using a multiplatform strategy, I made many mistakes. But the three biggest ones were these:
Trying to post everywhere from multiple platforms, which makes no sense when this can be automated.
Trying to post different content at different times across different platforms, which creates a lot to track for a negligible return on investment (since, realistically, few people will see your posts everywhere anyway).
Trying to grow multiple platforms at the same time, which is extremely hard to do even if do you have a team supporting you.
Fortunately, I feel as though I've solved these with Metricool. The first one is taken care of by the software itself. The second one I finally realized was a waste of time as I started following others across multiple platforms and realized I often (a) didn't know or (b) didn't care if they posted the same stuff in multiple places. The third one I came to see was self-defeating after getting a little burned out and taking a three-month break from Instagram at the beginning of this year.
Now, although I post all these places, I'm mainly focused on growing on LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube, all of which support my podcast. I'm still active on places like X, TikTok, and elsewhere, but I don't sweat if these (or any) platforms aren't growing.
I focus on the priority platforms now and let things play out as they may, trusting the process and knowing that I've got a tool and strategy that can help me build these channels over time in a manageable way.
The Power of Posting Everywhere
Why care about posting everywhere?
I'll give you both a micro and macro example of that.
Let's start with a recent video I posted on YouTube Shorts.
On YouTube only, it got 475 views and gained me one subscriber. That's not bad, as it aligns with my usual numbers. However, by cross-posting other places, I reached 275 more accounts on Instagram, 114 on LinkedIn, and 1.8K on TikTok (plus two more followers there).
In other words, posting on multiple platforms more than tripled my reach and doubled my subscriber growth.
Naturally, I also think this has helped grow my online presence overall. Since my post earlier this summer, my most significant success has been on YouTube, where my subscriber base has grown by another 38%. My podcast downloads and other platforms are coming along as well.
All this has happened while pursuing a multi-platform strategy, supported by my use of Metricool. So, this "secret tool" has been helpful for me, and I hope it can help you, too.
One More Thing to Help With This
To further help manage my content output, I also created a simple template to plan my weekly posts around my schedule (so I start each week with a realistic sense of what I can do).
This is also key because it ensures that my activities align with my long-term goals and that I hit my objectives a lot more often.
I've shared the template with all my email subscribers. If you'd like a copy and access to future resources, you can sign up here .
