Whether you want to land a C-level role or not, the principle of self-leadership is incredibly important.?It determines your career success, your job satisfaction and cascades into health, wealth, and happiness in your personal life as well.
In the newly revised edition of Invisible to Invincible (out soon – join the list to be notified of when we release) I write about the three principles of self-leadership on your pathway to becoming the Standout CEO of your life career and leadership journey. And I’m sharing the principle of 100% commitment here today.
How to take radical ownership – of your life, your career and your leadership journey. Be 100% all in.
If your life and career are not where you want them to be, it’s up to you. I know many of my readers have already stepped over the “I decide” line, but sometimes we need to remind ourselves of this principle, over and over again and become 100% committed. The sooner you take radical ownership of your life, career and leadership journey the sooner you’ll begin to progress and the easier your career success will be.
Instead, there is a calm, resolute and strategic approach to achieving your career and leadership goals, overcoming speed bumps, roadblocks and even navigating glass ceilings with grace and ease.
That’s why sometimes you see senior level successful women quoted in the press as saying?“Oh no, none of that happened to me. I didn’t notice any of those barriers on my pathway to the top.”
When I read these statements, I roll my eyes and think they must have had a blessed career!
But perhaps another response is to imagine that instead of being blessed, they’ve taken radical ownership of their life, career and destiny and are 100% committed to succeeding no matter what. They’ve got their blinkers on and just do what takes.
Research tells us that your perception shapes your reality, that delusional self belief has a role in success and so too does blind faith. It’s not woowoo. It’s science. Even more, studies have shown time and time again that you can grow your muscles and strength by visualising the exercises. So surely you can do the same with your career.

As the phenomenal tennis star Martina Navratilova once said,?“The difference between involvement and commitment is like ham and eggs. The chicken is involved; the pig is committed.”
Sometimes, we might be keen and enthusiastic but only?somewhat?involved?in our career. But when you take 100% ownership then you’re waiting for no-one. You’re all in.
The secret to making your career and leadership journey a successful one is being all in. Taking radical ownership and?making?100% commitment. That way you will be able to achieve almost anything you set your mind to.
Why be the 2IC of your life, when you can be the CEO of your life, career and destiny instead?

LEADERSHIP TRAINING THROUGH AWAKENING EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE
1 年Allow me to add, that WOMEN are naturally, much more intelligent than MEN. We have forgotten that our FIRST HOME when we were born, was the BODY of our PHYSICAL MOTHER... They continued after as our M0THERS, Daughters, becoming great grandmothers, wives, constantly applying their superior NATURE,,, EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE... INTUITION, which we all posses... MALE and FEMALE,,, Wrong education, based on arrogance and ignorance,,, JIM ROSS
LEADERSHIP TRAINING THROUGH AWAKENING EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE
1 年SELF-LEADERSHIP? Either INVISIBLE? or INVINCIBLE? Always our MIND, INTELLECTUAL-BRAIN is responsible? Listening to "YES and NO", or "MAYBE"... hidden from even family-members. "A wrong education"? An incomplete perception of REALITY?. Ignoring "ANTHROPOLOGY"? The study of our entire Human-Race: (1) An objective HUMAN-HISTORY; (2) PAST-SCIENTIFIC discoveries; (3) objective PAST-MEDICINE; (4) objective PHILOSOPHY: (5) PAST-SPIRITUALITY into all-religions: (6) ART, to amplify our "CREATIIVITY"; (7) Our entire UNIVERSE (all galaxies interrelated). We HUMANS? Ignoring ANCIENT CIVILIZATIONS, before the "Roman-Empire", much-more wiser than we are today. When they assured: "THE UNIVERSE is manifested through MATHEMATICS and SOUND (MUSIC) Languages worldwide... of humans, all animal-species (living within Air, Water, Earth), added to multiple sounds of MOTHER-NATURE = whose WISDOM is much higher about "everything", A REALITY, much higher than an incomplete "modern Anthropology". Much lower than our Majestic Mother-Nature. We need a NEW-ANTHROIPOLOGY, NEW-PSYCHOLOGY, NEW-COSMOLOGY. Only EMOTIONAL-INTELLIGENCE", like INTUITION emanates from our HEART, instead of a limited "intellectual-brain"... JIM ROSS

1 年great article Amanda Blesing FARPI MAICDand much of what you say is very relevant with the clients I work with too. Only this morning, I had an email from a client who stated 'Dressing this morning for my Brisbane event I’ve realised just how terrible my wardrobe is!! My husband also convinced and said this style thing is probably quite overdue!' This woman is a CEO and first met me 6 years ago. Its taken her that long to be 100% committed to seeing that how she presents has a huge impact on how others view her too and the impact she wants to make. It also is giving her enormous confidence knowing she will no longer be struggling with this important aspect of her whole message.
