The Secret Sauce To Get Your Work Done In Time

The Secret Sauce To Get Your Work Done In Time

?? What if you didn't have to work overtime?

"Work smarter, not harder...ditch busywork" - Tracy Brinkmann comments on my latest #InGrowthLive conversation.

I bet it's not the first time you've heard someone recommending 'smart work' over 'hard work' but how do we achieve the desired productivity with the limited time we have?

Sadiki ISHIMWE , a Business Operations Consultant joins #InGrowthLive to share his insights on "How To Get Things Done Efficiently In A Limited Time"

Most people define productivity in terms of the number of things one has accomplished in a certain amount of time.

We tend to look at it in terms of the length of the to-do list But Sadiki ISHIMWE defines it his way.

Productivity is the feeling you get after seeing your progress after accomplishing something in the set time.

Sadiki is a multi-passionate entrepreneur who consults businesses in several areas including real estate, recruitment and staffing, events planning and farming.

On top of work, he attends from 9 to 5, Sadiki spares time to meet his family and friends.

This Is What Sadiki Does To Achieve Productivity

? Write down everything you need to do ??

  • It's the best way to communicate with yourself and avoid forgetting things you should work on in a certain time.

? Simplify your work ??

  • If something can be communicated over a phone call, that is something that you can do on your way to the field. You don't need to be at the office to call someone.

? Know what you're good at ??

  • Doing what you're good at increases the chances of getting things done within a shorter time.

? Delegate things others can help with ??

  • Don't hoard everything on yourself, delegate some tasks to a teammate who can deliver quality deliverables.

? Read This Part, please

It's not that the other parts are less important, but personally, I found this one way straightforward and so practical for you to achieve productivity.

These are the hacks:

  • Document your work process: This helps you track your progress and serves as a guide for someone you may delegate to accomplish the task -just in case.
  • Approach your work with action steps: Break your long-term goal into small steps and be clear about what you should attend at a given time.
  • Limit destructions: Be intentional about the time you spend interacting with others whether in-person or online.
  • Leverage technology to simplify your work: You don't need sophisticated tools, a Google calendar is good enough for you to schedule your events, make your task list and manage external appointments without spending a coin or hopping from one device to another.

How About Leveraging Artificial Intelligence?

??While some tools including Artificial intelligence can undoubtedly help have much accomplished in less time, you should be cautious about how often you rely on them

"AI will not help you if you don’t know where you’re heading." - Sadiki ISHIMWE warns us from over-relying on technology for Productivity.

Woow! I am happy you can read this far, I guess you're also interested in taking progressive steps for your personal and professional growth.

So, I look forward to seeing you in the coming #InGrowthLive conversations every Thursday at 7 PM Kigali Time (UTC +2). I'd also appreciate your comments about this, I believe in the power of ideas and yours could spark something great ahead.

Otherwise, thank you for reading ?? ---I hope you gained something.

Yep! That's the secret.. shift focus from numbers to quality (satisfaction/feeling) when measuring goals. Feeling productive throughout the process. Break large projects into smaller, manageable steps. Remember, time is the major ingredient for all success. Set a daily goal to never lose yourself while chasing quick wins. Take breaks: power naps, walks, socializing, and, most importantly, reconnecting with your roots, God & family. Then, get back to your tasks list: check, improve, share, delegate, leverage, and grow. If growth feels slow, remember that you are still being productive. #InGrowthLive #ScanRwanda
