The Secret to Revenue Growth...

So far this week I have delivered 3 keynotes for companies that invested in their Sales Teams. It is critical to invest in yourself and your people. It is also important to deliver tools and strategies to your people if you want them to be able to improve in the upcoming year. That is why when I deliver a keynote for a sales team I am not only focused on leaving them feeling hopeful and inspired but also equipped to implement my sales tactics into their day to day so they can yield an increase in revenue.

It is shocking to me how often I hear that companies are demanding revenue increases but they are not giving their people the much needed tools to improve. Yet the number one concern I hear from CEO's today is employee retention and a fear of losing good people.

Here's what I know: if you don't invest in your people eventually someone else will. Over the last few months I have seen countless leaders shift their focus from customers to employees. Employee retention doesn't happen by accident just like revenue gains don't come by chance - it all happens by design.

Sales new year planning:


In preparation for 2022 we need specific revenue goals for the month quarter and year and a sales plan and strategy.


That starts with knowing what you did that worked in 2021 ??


what percent revenue increase are you going after? ??


Failing to plan is planning to fail - how do you plan to get there?


what are the obstacles and challenges that could prevent you from achieving it ?


what are the partnerships or people you can tap to help you advance more rapidly?


who is your competition?


what are they doing that you are not doing?


what white space can you own?


who is your audience/end user?


how are you reaching them? with what frequency?


what is your strongest messaging to reach them?


what converts the best?


any data will help !!!



Is there a better way? Stronger ROI?


Let’s test some new approaches and see ??


Is there another product or service you can offer your existing client base? ??


Are your customers raving fans that are bringing you business?


Why not? Do you have a referral program?


Are you leveraging testimonials?


How can you decrease churn?


How are YOU supporting the sales team and investing in them?


Are you driving the behaviors you want?


What did I leave out that you include in your year end revenue sessions? ????


Success doesn't happen by chance it happens through hard work, consistency and being willing to test and try new approaches. If you aren't investing in your people, now is the time to change that. If you are at a company that isn't investing in you, now is the time to leave.

I will never forget feeling like I wasn't valued.

Here's the thing: I wasn't. Lip service is cheap. I was always told what a great job I was doing but I was never shown. I remember going home at night wondering why I wasn't appointed to the Board of Directors after a decade of major contributions and plenty of asks. I was given lip service: "It's not the right time but soon". "Great idea, we will table it at the next meeting." blah, blah, blah.

Then I was fired. Two years later I was appointed to the Board of Directors at Healthlynked. I now surround myself with people who see my value and constantly remind me of it. Stop accepting lip service and start picking your head up to find a table where you will have a seat and you will be appreciated. I am so glad I have now found my people. Life is too short to spend time with those that don't invest in you and see your value.

Heather, Thank you for sharing this idea about sitting at a table where not wanted. I believe many men, much like myself, sit at a table where they are not wanted (sometimes for years) out of a feeling of obligation to not be a quitter, but the sad part is the clock ticks, the calendar year can keep changing and opportunities for self actualization and serving appreciative and loving others can diminish… you have given me much to consider, thank you again!
