It’s been a labour of love that has taken me 18 months to write! In the book I reveal the secret of how I broke free of the control I had allowed alcohol to have over me.

If you’ve had enough of the hangovers, the mood swings, the lack of energy, the extra pounds and the anxiety alcohol causes then you’re reading the right newsletter. I was overweight (well over 17 stone), short of breath, anxious, short-tempered and doing very little exercise, all symptoms of too much alcohol consumption and an unhealthy lifestyle. Most nights I lay awake at night believing (falsely) I could never stop drinking. But I did.

In the book, I share all the obstacles I faced, the wisdom gained and the challenges overcome during the first year of going alcohol-free. Like the majority of the UK’s 30 million drinkers, I was what I would call a ‘middle lane’ drinker. I was not pouring Whisky on my Weetabix or Frascati on my Frosties! I had, however, weaved alcohol into my life. I was drinking every day. At the end of the relationship, it was the equivalent of around a bottle of wine a day, more on weekends. But still enough to make me feel like there must be more to life.

I am now over 600 days alcohol-free. I’ve lost over 4 stone/25kg in weight, sleep through the night, have little anxiety, have massively improved my general well-being and fitness, generally feel happy and have clarity of purpose.
