The Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) and SETI Institute announced their collaboration agreement as part of a long-term vision to further the development of AlUla Manara Observatory as a leading destination of the future, for space research, discovery and astro-tourism. AlUla is an ancient desert oasis located in North West Saudi Arabia with more than 200,000 years of recorded human history and ancient heritage sites with 7000 years of successive civilizations.

The 2024 SETI Forward Award Application is Open!

The purpose of this award is to encourage undergraduates to enter the field of SETI and/or astrobiology and to encourage interns to become SETI ambassadors. It is open to undergraduate students from around the world.

ICYMI: New LaserSETI Observatory Installed in Sedona, AZ

July marked a significant milestone in optical SETI research, as the SETI Institute team installed two new LaserSETI stations in Sedona, AZ. This installation brings the number of active LaserSETI observatories to three, enhancing our ability to scan the entire sky and monitor for extrasolar laser pulses continuously. LaserSETI stations need to be strategically placed around the globe to achieve this goal.
