The Secret to Life Is Chasing Joy
It sounded like a small plane, circling the house again and again. After a minute or two, I went outside to investigate. A neighbor was standing at the top of our driveway. "You can see it from up here," she said.
"What?" I asked.
"The balloon."
It was a few minutes before sunset, and the sky was glowing a beautiful orange. Since the balloon had drifted out of sight—we live in the woods—it was time to jump in the car and chase the balloon and/or the sunset.
We found the balloon less than 1/2 a mile away, bringing the just-married couple back to their wedding.
What a spectacular idea, to get married and then float into the sky so you can see your friends and family from above... and reflect on the enormity of what just happened.
Chase joy whenever you can, I thought.
Make special events even more remarkable (reminder: it almost always works to toss in a hot air balloon).
If you spot something curious or intriguing, pursue it. This is how almost every great business gets started.
Chase joy, and seek out the energy that comes from being part of something truly original and invigorating.

3 年Bruce I make space for Joy and give her priority, then she flows to, through and with me. So much more fun, no longer trying, chasing and racing about. Thank you for the beautiful image, everyday should be a celebration of something, maybe the fact that we are still here for the potential of another joyful day? xxx ??♀?

3 年Why chase joy when you can bring joy into the lives of those you touch each day. Recently, I was fascinated by a TV commercial. The commercial joins two very young children talking over a meal. The cute little girl is telling (maybe her brother) that he is a star and a star is supposed to shine! That young one's statement struck a cord in my heart and brought a thought to my mind. Stars do shine in a sky of darkness but only because they reflect a light. The light is not their light but the reflection of another light. I don't know what light you reflect but I believe we were born to reflect the light. In fact it's our privilege to bring our light into the darkness where some people find themselves. When we bring that light into their darkness we just may illuminate the joy they need to find. What better cause can we have than to brighten people's lives. You, the star, are that special.. don't hide that light...let it shine! Bring joy every day!
