The Secret to Feeling More Peaceful
Tracey Gazel
I help senior leaders and executive teams master resilience, focus, and composure under pressure—unlocking their highest level of clarity, decision-making, and leadership presence in today’s high-stakes business world.
As someone who professionally asks people what they want in life, I have noticed a commonality in most people:
Most people are focused on what they don’t want.
Even when I ask “What do you want?” - most people don’t know.
What they do know is what they don’t want.
They don’t want to be in a job that doesn’t fulfill them. They don’t want to be unhappy in their marriage. They don’t want to be annoyed and distracted with their children. They don’t want to feel short on money or often feel as if they don’t have enough. They don’t want to feel overwhelmed by climate change, global unrest, and political conflict.
Knowing what you don’t want is one step closer to what you do want.
Which is why it’s important to ask:
What is missing from your life?
Which is another way of saying, what do you want?
If we were to flip the above list on its head into something you may want, it would read like this:
I want to be in a job that is fulfilling.
I want to be in a healthy and happy relationship.
I want to be present with my children and have a good relationship with them.
I want to be abundant and wealthy.
I want the world to settle and be less stressful.
Now let’s say you wake up tomorrow morning and all of these issues have been magically solved.
How would you feel if every single item had magically worked itself out?
I am willing to bet you would feel peaceful, calm, and content, carefree, and maybe even free.
Which is why, by the way, I have an exciting announcement.
I am shifting my messaging and what I help with to be centered around your Highest Self.
The Highest Self is a term referenced as far back as the 5th Century BCE with the Tao Te Ching and Zen Buddhism.
It is the part of you that is pure consciousness and is accessed when your mind is clear and quiet.
Your Highest Self is your core, your center, that is aways calm, content, and peaceful.

It is your True Nature.
I’m going to be sharing more about how to access it, live it, and BE it.
Because when you live as your Highest Self, you are already calm, content, peaceful, carefree, and free; regardless of what’s happening in the world around you.
And when you live from that space, life unfolds before you as you rest in peace, presence, and joy.
You can go forward working towards your goals and achieving what is missing from life, however it is from a space of contentment and gratitude as opposed to needing something to happen in order to feel better.
I’m often asked if living from this space makes you lazy, and the answer is – no! It makes you more productive and focused because you are living from a clear mind that is not cluttered with mental noise.
And as you experience a deeper enjoyment of life, even during the mundane tasks.
Suddenly a job that felt stressful becomes fulfilling.
Spending time with your significant other rekindles the love between the two of you from when you were younger.
Your children or grandchildren inspire you to slow down and join their pace.
You live the same life but with a deeper enjoyment of all experiences within it.
In the coming weeks I will be sharing a Highest Self audio clip with you as a THANK YOU for reading my newsletters and joining me on this journey.
Stay tuned for that soon!
In the meantime, remember that whatever feels like it’s missing from life is not blocking you from finding peace, contentment, and happiness.
Peace and contentment are always available and are only found in the present moment.
By quieting your mind and accessing the present moment, you can shift into a deeper enjoyment of life of experiencing peace, calm, and contentment in any situation because it’s who you really are.
As our minds get busy, we think ourselves away from our peace.
But we can remember to come back to our center, our core, our Highest Self at any time.
Excited to share more with you,
-Tracey
