What Is Employee Experience?
Employee experience (EX) is how an employee feels about their job at different stages of their employment. To understand EX, you need to look at everything an employee goes through, from the company culture to their workload to their relationship with their boss.
LinkedIn's "Employee Well Being Report" found that employees who were satisfied with their flexibility in hours or location were:
- 3.4 times more likely to successfully balance work and personal obligations.
- 2.6 times more likely to be happy working for their employer.
- 2.1 times more likely to recommend working for their employer.?
Employee experience is at the top of the priority list for global businesses. In a recent Workday survey, 93% of HR leaders said that employee experience is a top priority for their organization. However, only 37% of leaders said they are very satisfied with their current employee experience.
How to create a connected Employee Experience
Here are just a few of the ways that Workday's connected employee experience platform can help businesses improve the employee experience:
- Streamline HR processes: Workday's cloud-based HCM platform automates and streamlines HR processes, such as payroll, timekeeping, and benefits enrollment. This frees up employees to focus on more strategic and value-added work.
- Provide Employee Essentials: To improve employee experience, employers must guarantee the essentials: equipment, pay, onboarding processes, work environments, remote work options, and support for burnout, stress, and well-being. Employees should be able to self-report their needs, as what's considered essential varies by person and culture.
- Provide personalized insights: Workday's analytics and reporting capabilities provide HR leaders with insights into the employee experience. This data can be used to identify areas for improvement and to develop targeted interventions. Workday's new solution Manager Insight's Hub leverages AI to deliver automated insights and timely actions for managers.
- Create a culture of engagement: Workday's social collaboration and gamification features help businesses create a more engaged and connected workforce. Creating an inclusive and engaging work environment to essential for all-size businesses.
- Enable Skill Development: Workers now expect regular opportunities to develop their skills, both inside and outside of their current roles. By working together, the CIO and CHRO can create a skills taxonomy and identify potential skills gaps, enabling employees to contribute skills that fall outside of their existing roles. This promotes a culture of growth that doesn’t rely solely on financial reward and employee migration, and the resulting benefits to employee satisfaction and business performance are significant.
