The Secret Connection Between Felix the Cat, Edison & Turning Ideas into Action - You'll Never Guess!

The term "bright" to mean "clever" seems to have originated/evolved in the 18th century

Sources of light have long been used as symbols for a powerful idea and for knowledge in general since long before the invention of the light bulb.?

Did you know that felix the cat was the first to use the light bulb as a metaphor for a bright idea.

I’m sure you all have heard the famous quote

“I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.

-Thomas Edison”

Yet your brain ?? can be incredibly brutal and effective in talking you out of taking actions on your ideas big and small.

It’s difficult to see anything but failure when you try time and time again and nothing seems to work, but enduring through adversity is a sign of character.?

You can’t allow yourselve to get letdown when something doesn’t go our way.?

Look at life’s little disasters as just another “way that won’t work”, and find an alternative path.

How do we do this ?

Here are 5 points how to set yourself up for having a stronger mindset

Adopt a growth mindset:

  • Embrace the idea that setbacks and failures are opportunities for learning and growth.
  • Instead of getting discouraged by life's little disasters, view them as stepping stones toward finding a better way.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and believe in your ability to adapt and overcome.

Reframe the situation:

  • Change your perspective on setbacks by reframing them as temporary obstacles rather than permanent roadblocks.
  • See them as detours on your journey rather than ultimate failures.
  • By shifting your mindset, you'll be more open to exploring alternative paths and finding creative solutions.

Cultivate resilience:

  • Develop resilience, which is the ability to bounce back from adversity. Understand that setbacks are a natural part of life and that everyone faces challenges.
  • Build your resilience by focusing on your strengths, seeking support from others, and practicing self-care.
  • Resilience will enable you to persevere and find new ways to move forward.

Embrace flexibility and adaptability:

  • Life rarely goes according to plan, so it's important to be flexible and adaptable.
  • When faced with a setback, be willing to adjust your approach and consider alternative paths.
  • Embrace change and use it as an opportunity to explore new possibilities.
  • By being open-minded and adaptable, you'll be better equipped to find alternative ways that lead to success.

No matter how hard it feels, keep adapting and accepting challenges as they come along

Seek inspiration and guidance:

  • Look for inspiration from others who have faced similar challenges and overcome them.
  • Read success stories, listen to motivational speakers, or seek advice from mentors or trusted individuals in your life.
  • By learning from others' experiences and perspectives, you can gain valuable insights and ideas for finding alternative paths in the face of life's little disasters.

Jason Silva is a source of inspiration for me and this video I have watch countless times.

Remember!

The key is to approach setbacks with a positive and proactive mindset, embracing them as opportunities for growth and exploration. By doing so, you'll be more likely to find alternative paths that lead to success and fulfillment.

Putting it all together - you have the 5 key points to strengthen your mindset habits.

Great newsletter Daniel Andersen-Tuffnell Charles Darwin?said?in?On the Origin of the Species?that it’s not the strongest or most intelligent of the species that survives but the one that’s most adaptable to change. Mental agility, flexibility, adaptability and resilience are needed to navigate this BANI world and understand the illusion that our mindsets operate in. It is not the reality, more our perception that creates who we are and how we feel. We need to work on our perception to help build a more powerful mindset to navigate and survive this crazy world we live in. (Written by me, not AI ?? )

Too many people accept their own excuses: "I can't", "That's just the way I am", or "That won't work for me/ my business because ... (insert pathetic excuses)... The reality is that people often don't even start something because they are afraid to fail. The thing is, we often don't even realise we're doing it. The FEAR is so sub-conscious we rationalise our reasons why we don't take action/change (see above rubbish excuses) ALL successful people have failed, many times, to achieve success. ALL unsuccessful people haven failed enough.

Loving your roadmap ?? in this article Dan. Practical steps that people can take to stay on track. By creating a roadmap, you'll have a tangible plan to guide your actions and stay on track. In my humble experience the key is to be hyper focussed on your goals and be super specific about what you want but adaptable to the path to getting there. I know when I am not hyper focussed, the clarity isnt there and I dont know what I'm aiming for, so guess what I dont get it. ??
